Anyone have Altice One?

So I already have Optimum and this seems like $30-40 cheaper if I get.

Anyone have? Thoughts? Complicated?

If I have 4 TVs do they all hook up? Do I lose my dvr stuff, favorite channels? Is it like really different? And why does WiFi suddenly become better? Thanks.

Re: Anyone have Altice One?

Might have a better shot in Tech Talk perhaps? This subforum mostly seems to be used to discuss TV shows themselves, not hardware.

And sorry I can't help, I have no idea what an Altice One is.

I moved about 6 months ago and asked the cable guy doing my setup about it. At that point he said they were still having issues and that I should wait a couple of months before switching to that. It is my understanding that you get one main box that is a cable box, modem and router in one. For any additional tv's you get a smaller box that also serves as a wi-fi extender and I assume that is why you have better wi-fi. When I moved I did loose all my settings and dvr recordings which they explained that the move is almost like a new account, so you might not loose it all with just changing your boxes.

Re: Anyone have Altice One?

gotcha. so you haven't gotten yet? i think dvr stuff is stored on their hard drives, that is why i can still record a show during a power outage so hopefully i will be able to keep. did that cable guy mention if it was cheaper than regular Optimum? thanks for info.

Re: Anyone have Altice One?

I did not get it yet. It seems like the prices are $20 for the main box, $10 for each mini box and $10 for multi-room dvr at the moment. For me it works out more or less the same as I am paying $11 a cable box and $18 for DVR Plus. I did buy my own modem for $50 on Amazon when they started to charge $10 a month for the modem.
