I Know What You Did Last Summer (Amazon) - EP: James Wan - premieres 10/15/21
Under the new pact, Moritz and Pavun Shetty, who has closed a new deal to remain Head of TV at Original, will continue to work on the company’s existing series for Sony TV: Preacher, which is heading into its final season on AMC, S.W.A.T,picked up for a third season at CBS, and The Boys, recently renewed for a second season by Amazon ahead of its series premiere today.
Additionally, Moritz and Shetty will continue to shepherd development of new live-action drama and comedy series as well as animation for network, cable and streaming platforms. The company’s current development slate includes I Know What You Did Last Summer at Amazon, a YA horror series based on the Moritz-produced hit movie franchise, with James Wan attached to direct and Shay Hatten writing; and The Wanted at FX, “America’s most epic true crime story,” written by Shawn Ryan based on the upcoming novel by journalist John Tayman, which tells the history of the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Program.

I'd watch it, or at least try it out. Those first two have been guilty pleasures of mine since they came out.

Surprisingly I actually haven’t seen either of the movies or at least not in full. I saw part of the first one on tv a long time ago but I hardly remember it. A show might actually work if it was done as like a mystery horror with the hook man coming back and taking out the teens who supposedly killed him one by one. Not sure how well it works long term though.

The title of the sequel always cracks me up. "I STILL Know What You Did Last Summer". It was just last Summer. If you already knew what it was, why wouldn't you still now? Did someone slip you a roofie or hit you on the head or something?

The sequel after that which went direct to video was called "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer". Don't see how they can make a series of this, other than the premise of the bad guy coming back each episode with no way to stop him.

It really feels better suited for a movie. I think if it’s going to be a series it’ll only work if it’s a limited run series. Make the opener the episode where the teens supposedly kill him. After that make some weird things happen to them and eventually have them picked off one by one. There could be a mystery element thrown in to figure out who’s behind everything and eventually have a final showdown between the final person left and the killer.
There’s only really so much to do with a horror based series. A movie is one thing where there’s a sequel every couple years until it dies off in popularity. Seems a lot harder to keep a tv series going considering most seasons even if short are around ten episodes, possibly eight if it’s a lower run.
Although I guess surprisingly Scream: The TV Series is still on. I haven’t watched that since season one though.

Madison Iseman (Jumanji: The Next Level), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck(Connecting), Brooke Bloom (Homecoming) and Bill Heck (I’m Your Woman) are set to star in the YA horror series, a modern take on the hit 1997 slasher film. Production will begin this month in Hawaii.
Written by Sara Goodman (Preacher) based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan, the I Know What You Did Last Summer series has the same premise as the movie adaptation: In a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.

Watching the newer Craft movie made me think I hate modern high school movie dialogue.
I remember reading the book for this when I was in Jr. High, sounds like they're going to keep it a slasher like the movie was instead of whatever genre (thriller / slasher with incredibly low body count?) the book was.

Ah, Euphoria as a 90s Slasher (so... the 2nd half of Assassination Nation). At least the killer got all their phone numbers before peacing out.

I just watched the 1st 2 episodes. It is a little low budget and most of the cast is unknowns. The premise is loosely similar to the 1st movie.
The first episode is all set up. There is a twist that was pretty easy to figure. The 2nd episode does get a little more gory as one member of the group gets killed off. Not sure if this is really a "good" show, but if you like low budget horror then maybe you'll like it.

Cancelled.
I only saw the 1st 2 episodes. Article says the season had a "satisfying conclusion" so it sounds like it was self contained.
