Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Really can’t wait for Star Trek: Picard. Easily one of my most anticipated shows in a long time. Just hope it lives up. |
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
From the description of the short clip they showed, I wonder if Picard is suffering from dementia (or the 24th Century equivalent of it)? That would be a really interesting take....

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Maybe he really does have Irumodic syndrome, like was shown in All Good Things.

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Those don't seem like the right uniforms for that time period. They should be the grey shoulders with colored under-tunics.
Unless it's a flashback or holodeck. |
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
That must be a flashback or something. No way they’d get that wrong. Kind of seems weird there would be a flashback involving the DS9/VOY uniforms though. The only time the TNG crew wore that style of uniform was in Generations. After that they switched over to the gray and black. |
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I don't want to see a frail Picard.

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Looking forward to ST: PICARD. If they have similar writing and production quality of ST: Discovery it's going to be great series.
|
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I hope he's going to be on a starship. That picture doesn't really instill too much confidence.
|
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Are those actually the same as the DS9/VOY uniforms? The colored shoulders match them, but the collars look higher.

Didn't notice that. The DS9/VOY uniforms cut off at the neck and they wore an undershirt.

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
If I recall, the TNG, DS9 and Voyager uniforms had an evolution. It’s possible these could fit somewhere in between what we’ve seen. Or they’re an alternative reality. Or they’re on earth, so perhaps cadet uniforms at the academy? Or they’re the same, and were just going off of fuzzy internet pictures. ;) |

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I’m glad it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a situation where he’s lost his facilities or something. Curious to find out what caused him to leave Starfleet though. Easily one of my most hyped shows in a long time. |
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Didn't Picard say in the series he was planning to retire and work in a winery? So that seems up to par for what a retired Picard would be doing.
Decent 1st teaser. I'm really looking forward to it. |

Funny, I don't think the teaser nixes that idea at all. I think it strengthens it. He left because he was starting to lose his memory. :(

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I’m sure the “rescue armada” will be something major that is depicted on the show. And something from that brings him back. Can’t wait for this - my wife and I originally bonded over TNG so we’re both stoked. |
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I'm kind of sick of these series where we check in on characters after a few decades and find out they've been doing nothing all this time.

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
Rescue mission has something to do with Romulans and spock vanishing into the alt timeline.
|
Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
After having Luke Skywalker shit all over I don't think I could handle Picard being ruined.

15 years ago you led us out of the darkness and commanded the greatest rescue armada in history. What event would this be referring to? First Contact, Nemesis, or something else? They had originally said the new series would take place 20 years after Nemesis, then Stewart reffered to it being 20 years after the end of the tv series. Now it's 15 years after some major event wheather it happened onscreen or not. It alludes to something happening that caused him to lose his faith. If it refers to losing his faith in Starfleet with something that happened onscreen than it would seem unlikely or odd that he would have stayed to be promoted to Admiral.

Re: More Star Trek TV projects (including Picard series) in development
I always though the Star Trek Enterprise Xindi story arc was the latest Trek came to addressing contemporary storyline similar to 9/11. I think of anything, the Federatikn dealing with an influx of immigrants from Romulus and those fleeting war would be more apt (ala Syria). I’m not up on Star Trek online, but I think the Federation are at war with the Klingons and the Dominion. I believe it’s canom, but I suppose they could always pull a Star Wars and decide the extended universe type stuff goes out the window. |

EXCLUSIVE: “I’m really so delighted, and I can’t believe I get a chance to be part of this,” Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon told Deadline last fall about joining the writers room of CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Picard series as an executive producer. The lifelong Star Trek fan has now been named showrunner of the Star Trek revival that is bringing Trek icon Patrick Stewart back into Federation space. Chabon, who had been part of the core creative team on the series, is working closely on the day-to-day production with fellow executive producers, veteran Star Trekwriter/producer Akiva Goldsman, and Alex Kurtzman, who continues to oversee the expansion of the growing Star Trek universe for CBS TV Studios. |
