We marathoned the last 5 episodes in two days and loved it. Brutal stuff with the son but I’m glad they held off on turning his dad into a murderer.

Looking forward to next season!

Re: For All Mankind (Apple TV+) -- S: Joel Kinnaman -- NASA series from the creator of Battlestar Galacti

My daughter got a new iPad recently, and I did not realize it was eligible for a free year of apple tv, we activated the family share option this past month and was able to binge this over the past two weeks.

I liked it a lot, thought the effects were really well done and I liked the Alt-story-line, a tad too much melodrama, but they did have to pad it to make it 10 eps. Very pleased it was renewed and in all likelihood I will subscribe again to watch this again next year if I still don't have the service...

Thanks for the tip on watching the post credits, i actually finished and had to go back after ending it, although I'm not sure what that scene will setup, but looking forward to it...
Spoiler:
RIP Deke, was a fave this season

Just finished this, thought it was very good, a bit slow at times, but definitely worth a watch.

Season 2 trailer dropped a couple of days ago:

Looks great.

I wasn't expecting much out of this series, but I thought the first season was a real gem.

Just finished up season 1. I was hooked on the concept when I first saw the trailer, as it reminded me of Man in the High Castle.

The first 2-3 episodes were slow, but the show definitely found its feet from there and grew a lot. It’s a credit to the writers and actors to how much the characters were developed in such a short time. Plus some all around great television. Amazing effects, and some inspiring events despite’s tragedies along the way.

Looking forward to a second season.

this came out today. Watched the last season in anticipation and it did not disappoint. Caught the first episode (it's dropping weekly) and it was a little slow to start but picked up steam in the end. Definitely worth watching. There is a roughly 10 year time hop and a good recap before the episode that seems to do a good enough job if you have not watched this one recently.

Oh and without spoiling anything pay close attention to the "Catch up to present day time jump" some interesting alternate reality in the timeline from the last episode to the present. Kind of curious if any of that would make a difference in the show but I can not see how it would...

Dmail instead of email. Love the little touches.

Cool intro trying to quickly catch all the changes. Liked how they are showing the militarization of NASA now.

I thought this first ep was excellent, great sci-fi, some fun alt reality, some cool space stuff, not a ton of melodrama, looking forward to a great 2nd season!

Re: For All Mankind (Apple TV+) -- S: Joel Kinnaman -- NASA series from the creator of Battlestar Galacti

I believe two eps dropped, but we only watched 1 so far.

The time jump was jarring, even with the “previously on”. I was surprised we skipped over so much of Ed and Gordo’s careers.

Interesting twist with how the two main couples went in different directions after such big life events at the end of season 1.

During the intro I thought something bad was about to happen. Turns out I was right! If you’re Cobb, just go in the cave!!

I read an article that they really wanted to show the progression of missions, so you need to have a jump like that if you want to go to the moon one season and Mars the next. They said they would do jumps like this for every season.

The premiere was good - very tense and well done. And seeing Moore's name pop up just makes me want to go watch Battlestar Galactica again.

...and why isn't isn't it "dmail" instead of "email"? Digital mail is a better term by far for what is happening to it.

I loved the door "clicker" for the electric car.

I guess S3 will be a trip to Mars?

Re: For All Mankind (Apple TV+) -- S: Joel Kinnaman -- NASA series from the creator of Battlestar Galacti

Good second episode this week. It’s very interesting how the transition from the 60s to the 80s changed the underlying tone of the show.

Clearly all is not right with Gordo. He’s stuck between two worlds - needing to go back, but equally terrified to do so. I really thought him and Tracey turned a corner at the end of last season, but apparently not. Speaking of - I don’t recall them having a second son. Does his age make that after season 1?

Things are not going to go well for Molly. A shame as she turned out to be a great character after she came across so bullish to start.

My wife and I also questioned the 2nd son. We thought maybe we misremembered something.

IMDB has actors listed for both sons from the 2019 episodes.

I remember the younger son from the first season. He wasn't an active character and seemed to be asleep most of the time. Nice gig if you can get it.

Re: For All Mankind (Apple TV+) -- S: Joel Kinnaman -- NASA series from the creator of Battlestar Galacti

I would guess they are building up to a big episode but it's a bit disappointing they are spending so little time on the moon the last few episodes. I'm still in this for the long haul but I don't need to see this much administrative stuff. I can not for a second believe that people would say hold onto this bit of land and not expect to have to require some kind of weapons to do so.

Re: For All Mankind (Apple TV+) -- S: Joel Kinnaman -- NASA series from the creator of Battlestar Galacti

I’m sure we’re building to something. Also, I think the admin stuff plays a good parallel to the personal lives of the characters.

Nice tie back to season 1 with the Russian visitor to the base though!

BIG spill over from Ed and Karen. Also, clear Gordo is not over his last trip... Not entirely clear why Tracey is acting so weird either. Cool billboard by the way.
