Looking forward to this one. (yes I know ep 1 was already on, I haven't had a chance to watch it.)
I love 80s slasher and horror. My wife hates them so I may be watching alone. (oooh scary!)
I liked Freakshow and Roanoke, couldn't get into S1, hated Apocalypse and Hotel, and want to check out Asylum, Coven, and Cult.

This was a lot of fun and Mr. Jingles is great as a slasher/psycho. And John Carroll Lynch was a great choice. Either I forgot, but had no idea they could say fucking on FX. This was pure 80’s cheese and just loved every minute, though nothing we haven’t seen in any of the great slasher movies of the 80’s.

I must be totally desensitized because I don't remember anyone saying "fuck" in this episode Thought it was a great start though! Glad Emma isn't playing her usual stuck up blonde character.

They’ve been doing it for 5 years. And much more liberally the last 3.

What's great is that he was the straight-laced singing teacher on Glee.

Yeah, I remember regular F-bombing in Apocalypse, and I asked if they'd be the first basic cable program to show full boobage, only to be informed that Yellowstone already has.

Can't any channel that isn't free to receive OTA swear all they want? Channels just never have because they want them to be kid friendly.

To me the key to spoofing a slasher was to get the gore elements right, and so far I've been surprised it went as far as it did.

I will have to tell my wife that. I had this on while she was in the kitchen and she said "Is that the guy from Glee?" Seeing as how I never watched Glee, I could not confirm; and doing a cast hunt on AHS is kinda a pain.

Anyway, after one episode, I like it - it absolutely hits a lot of the 80s slasher feel. I'm just waiting for the AHS weirdness.

Wait, what? That’s skinny lead, Matt Morrison or something? Holy fucking shit! I must have missed his name in opening credits or just didn’t pay attention which I always do make sure to watch all credits of actors, musicians, exec. producers, shit like that...

Cable tv, both premium and commercial-supported, can show anything they want.

Traditionally, commercial-supported cable still adhered to the same kinds of content restrictions as OTA broadcast in order to keep their sponsors happy. In the past, sponsors didn't want to be associated with vulgar or indecent content, so basic cable didn't push the envelope much back then.

Companies like HBO and Showtime, who are subject to neither the government nor the will of paid sponsors, have been free to go as far as they want to.

In theory, there's nothing preventing a channel like AMC or FX from showing a program like Shameless or Euphoria, that is filled with sex, nudity, and vulgar language.

That said, did anyone else get sort of excited when it looked like Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd were going to share a shower early in the episode?

Was surprised that the two who have been in every season, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, weren't in the first episode. Just looked it up and Evan won't be in it at all and Sarah will supposedly have a small role this season.

After two episodes I'm cautiously optimistic about the season. I appreciate that they quickly put to bed the whole "is she crazy or is there an actual murderer on the loose" trope so we can just get down to business. Not a huge fan of the Richard Ramirez angle as this fetishization of real-life murderers has been done to death recently. Hoping Todd Stashwick is given more to do in flashbacks as he's too interesting an actor to just get one episode.

Roberts and Peters apparently had a nasty break-up recently, so it'll be one or the other at best for a little while. She's the bigger name.

Really enjoying this so far. I too didn't realize the Matt Morrison/Glee link -- I recognized the face but didn't bother looking it up. Will be interesting to see if the season's entire setting takes place at the camp or if things change up at some point.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Love the use of White Wedding in that flashback scene.

Loving this so far. Anything campy 80's slasher film is right up my ally. So glad AHS ran with the popularity of Stranger Things and went this route.

I want one of those Mr. Jingles masks for Halloween. Now we're heading into the typical AHS twists and turns part of the season but so far nothing has been too eye-rolling.

I'm liking this season quite a bit. I loved the twist at the end of episode 3.

The John Wayne Gacy house was demolished in 1979. A new house was built on the lot in 1988. Are they saying that she bought the new house there?

The house is actually up for sale now:
