All that said, while this wasn't bad, it wasn't great, either. I have a feeling, now that people have watched the first episode and realized it's not a continuation of the show, some of them won't be back. I don't think it has long-term potential honestly, but honestly get a kick out of Brian Austin Green's "wife" being more famous than him. Too bad they couldn't get Megan Fox to play herself.

I thought the last college season was lousy and it just worse after that. Season 8 was abysmal.

I caught a segment of it last night (around 15-20 minutes) and didn't care for it. If I heard someone say the word "reboot" one more time I might have thrown something through my screen.
I really recommend the show Grosse Pointe instead. It only lasted one season on the WB back in 2000-01. It was the fictional behind-the-scenes of a teen soap opera. While it was "not based on actual people", the star of the show (within the show) was a notorious bitch despite playing a goody-goody on screen. Another actress was the daughter of the rich producer. And the lead actress' on-screen boyfriend was a brooding "bad boy" clearly much older than a teenager. Again, not based on any real people or anything.
It was hilarious and never got the recognition it deserved.

The 2nd episode was okay, but had some fun moments. at Christine Elise (Emily Valentine) being the new 90210 showrunner. and then Priestley having infertility issues.
However, I'm not so sure about this apparent stalker storyline.
Looks like they're making fictional "Gabrielle" come out as bi-sexual. I remember the actor who plays her husband. he used to be a series regular on Medium years ago.

I thought the second episode was kind of blah. Maybe this should have been a quick TV movie instead of a series?
I did go back and rewatch the first half of the original pilot. Haven't rewatched any of 90210 since they were first aired.
The fashion and tech is pretty funny to watch but the acting is pretty atrocious.
I plan to check out a few more of the original but not sure if I can rewatch it like I can rewatch Miami Vice. Both are cheesy but in very different ways regarding rewatchablility.
For nostalgia alone, I will stick around for the remaining 4 episodes unless it just turns awful.

Interesting episode last night.
So they're really making Gabrielle go full-on Bi-Curious. Also interesting that Christine Elise is written as gay and maybe interested in Gabrielle. Back in the day Elise and Priestley actually dated in real life.
I'm still not really sure what Brian's new assistant's ulterior motive is.
It's light and has some humor. Overall, it's better than what I was initially expecting. I thought this was going to be a complete train wreck and surprisingly it isn't for me.
and I at Carol Potter (Mrs. Walsh) being a licensed therapist treating the group.

I'm 5 minutes in and finding it weird, i had to google who Brian Austin Green was married to cos i thought i was Megan Fox not a black girl.
i would have preferred a straight reboot or a straight reality show, this is trying to achieve both and may end up achieving nothing

Only 2 more episodes left.
Last week's episode was a little odd. Brian's new assistant I guess has now been ruled out as the stalker since he claims he's his "son"
I'm curious who this "villain" is that is trying to sabotage the reboot, especially with what happened at the end.
This "reboot" has been weird, yet entertaining. I'm actually kind of glad it's a super short season as opposed to 10-13 episodes.
The storyline that doesn't really work for me is "Gabby" turning Bi-Curious and now being attracted to Christine Elise. I don't know. It just doesn't work.
and some people are questioning the validity of Gabrielle Carteris' recent re-election as SAG-AFTRA president. Someone claims that this show is propaganda for her re-election. Since her character is the "Actors Union" president.

I agree with you on Gabby going bi not working. It's like they didn't know what else to do with her character.
As far as the "villain", "Stop acting like I'm not even here"? First one I thought of was Luke Perry. If that's what they were going for then that's lame. However, Claire, Val, Matt & Noah are all not around so it could be any one of those characters also.

Unless I misunderstood, the kid assistant is the stalker, but he was stalking because he is Brian's son. that's how I took it.

Yeah no shit. That's why I said it would be pretty lame if that's what the writers are going for. As far as Douglas Emerson being a good choice, the guy was in the show for what, 1 season? Wouldn't make any sense for him to get angry for not being invited to participate in the reboot. He was never even part of the main cast. Nat would be a good choice!

Just making sure. Geez. Douglas Emerson was a cast member for the entire first season. They killed him off in the second season. It'll probably end up being Christine Elise, though, since she was a firestarter in the original show.

Season Finale was last night.
It was alright I guess. They do leave things open for a 2nd season like the budget being killed, moving to Canada (where the show actually films at) and a cast member being fired. Tori Spelling in this interview says they definitely want a 2nd season:

I did when Jason realized the kid might actually be his. Surprised to see Denise Richards. She did look good. It was a little too convenient that Anna just happened to be her daughter.
If this comes back as another 6-10 episode season next summer, I'll probably watch it. I found enough things amusing.

There were a few shots were it definitely looks like Denise Richards has had some work done on her face.
"Here and Now" by Letters to Cleo was a Melrose Place soundtrack song, not 90210!

I was also surprised to see Denise Richards. I do remember the guest-starring spot she mentioned. She had like two lines on the original show. But, while I found this amusing, I don't care if it comes back or not. Only if Tiffani Thiessen would come back...

Re: BH90210 (FOX) -- Beverly Hills 90210 reboot -- Premieres 8/7/19
This whole season it felt like they were just throwing a ton of crap against the wall to see what sticks. Story and tone were all over the place but I was generally entertained. There's a version of this show that I think could work and hopefully if they do get another season they will be able to fine tune it a bit. That said, I could also see this wearing out it's welcome real quick. Tori sort of being the focal point is a real drag for me. I don't care how much they make fun of her, she really is the worst.

i think I fell in love with Jenny Garth all over again.
And all the dream sequences were over the top silly, but they did make me laugh.
I'm definitely in for another season.

Cancelled
Not really that surprised. Plus, FOX didn't even own the show. CBS produced it for them. I don't think the concept ever worked long term.
