I'm halfway through the season and it's still as excellent as the first.

Just finished the episode where
Spoiler:
Tench finds a surprise at home.

Gotta admit, I didn't see that coming.

Three episodes in and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Great having the show/characters back.

melasnus - may want to say what episode your spoiler is from. Can't imagine anyone who hasn't finished the series will click on it for fear of getting spoiled.

If it's what I think he's talking about, it's the last episode.

Then I'm glad I didn't click on it! Ep4 is first on the list for tonight.

Watched this over the weekend. Fantastic season. Just exceptionally directed and acted. This better continue and execute its 5 season plan.

Hell of a makeup job on turning that annoying fucker Oliver Cooper into Berkowitz.

^Olivia and September together again!

Binged this over the last few days. Really good season. The Tench family storyline was interesting and made you feel for his character a lot more. What a horrible situation.

I liked the Atlanta moms and how they always gave Holden shit for the FBI/police not doing enough.

Amen to that...very spooky.
They really have done a good job of trying to make the actors look like the original psychos.
The "Manson" they got is dead-on (excuse the pun).

And considering...

Spoiler:
The guy they arrested was only convicted of 2 murders out of the 20 something plus ATL murders I'd say they were right.

From Wiki

Former FBI profiler John E. Douglas wrote in his book Mindhunter that, in his opinion, "forensic and behavioral evidence points conclusively to Wayne Williams as the killer of eleven young men in Atlanta." He added, however, that he believed there was "no strong evidence linking him to all or even most of the deaths and disappearances of children in that city between 1979 and 1981".[30]

there wouldn't be a very satisfying end to that arc in the show.

There has been attempts over the years from
Spoiler:
Wayne Williams to fight his convictions.
He says, "I DIDN'T TO IT!"
Yeah, nobody ever does, sport.

It's funny that some people believe if a guy denies a crime LONG ENOUGH, he must be innocent.
The clincher it was Williams is after he was arrested it stopped.
Sometimes Law Enforcement gets it right...even the morons in Georgia catch a break now & then.

Spoiler:
I'll take John E Douglas' educated opinion that Williams probably didn't kill the young children of the ATL murders over your opinion any day. Even if Williams was involved there has always been a belief he wasn't alone. They only convicted him for the murders of 2 older men.

I did not know that was his opinion.
If so, I don't understand why this series would go out of its way to besmirch his reputation...very interesting.

Where do you get this from?

I just looked at Wikipedia and Douglas doesn't say that at all:
Former FBI profiler John E. Douglas wrote in his book Mindhunter that, in his opinion, "forensic and behavioral evidence points conclusively to Wayne Williams as the killer of eleven young men in Atlanta." He added, however, that he believed there was "no strong evidence linking him to all or even most of the deaths and disappearances of children in that city between 1979 and 1981"

That was very unexpected. I'm assuming this part is made up for the show? My knowledge of these killers/FBI agents is low so a lot of this is new to me.

The actor who played Manson was fantastic.

Re: Mindhunter (Netflix) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 8/16/2019

So season 3 will be focus on Dennis Rader aka BTK serial killer. Kind of surprised Tench and Holden never interviewed Juan Corona who kill 25 migrant workers in Yuba City.

Huh? Dude I already posted that. And again, he said:

He added, however, that he believed there was "no strong evidence linking him to all or even most of the deaths and disappearances of children in that city between 1979 and 1981"

But people still believed he was not alone.

Probably because they focus on cases as they're happening. The Corona case was from 1971. They do interview folks that are already in prison, but just to reference their current investigation.

I am not finished with S2 at all, but wasn't he caught in the 90's? I don't see how this could work at all unless they flash forward more than a decade.
