^^ Hate to see a good show end, always bitter-sweet. But you're 100% spot on.

Anybody watching? I am finding this season a bit slow, granted I'm only thru 3 episodes. I figured we'd get angst-riddled June but I was hoping for more a revenge-focused, rally the troops June than crazy June.

I'm watching, and mostly enjoying it.

There's something that they seem to be telegraphing, that I won't mention, if you're only 3 episodes in. I have mixed feelings about it.

There are a couple of ways this season can go down... but I do find it frustrating that:

1. They're trying to make Aunt Lydia a sympathetic figure -- no way!
2. There would be a contingent that would want Gilead in Canada AND that the government is allowing it
3. The funeral was globally broadcast... that's like letting Putin broadcast his pro-war rhetoric around the world

^Agree with all 3 points.

If you're caught up, now, what I was referring to is that...
Spoiler:
They seem to be hinting that the couple that Serena is staying with will be taking her baby, since she no longer has a husband. The whole thing has the creepy handmaid vibe.

One the one hand, I want to say it'll serve her right, but it's just hard to root for that happening to anyone.

We caught up last night and that was an excellent episode 6 --- albeit I saw it coming. Still intense.
And your prediction was spot on!

The show may have jumped the shark for me, with Serena and June now helping one another out. Just so out of character. These two despise each other, they want each other dead

Yeah, I was a couple of episodes behind, and just caught up, tonight.

My prediction was correct, but its resolution was not what I would have guessed. As it went along, it was fairly predictable, though.

Episode 7 was pretty good. Agree with Osiris that this isn't the partnership I expected or wanted. If the should had any balls left, June would have walked off with that baby and made a swap for her daughter (but I don't think Serena has any clout left anyhow). Now I foresee June being an advocate for Serena and them joining forces to take down Gilead.

OK season. Though they really forced the June/Serena bonding.

Good that they will conclude it with the next season (6).

That wasn't the season finale I was expecting. I was really hoping for some "wins" for June... instead it's more of the same depressing oppression and nonsense in Canada. I really, really hope Gilead gets wiped off the planet next season.

Shit. I had no idea that was the season finale.

The Canadian stuff has been pissing me off. I keep thinking how we would never be acting the way that they are, but then I realize, there are some people that probably would act that way.

The legal stuff is also somewhat suspect.

I suppose I can't really compare what we have now to the timeline in the series, as obviously they diverged, at some point, to create Gilead.

Bring on the final season! Feels like it's going to be a long wait.

Re: The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu) -- Season 3 and beyond Thread

For any other weirdos that are into finding filming locations, this is where they shot the final train scene: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.8985.../data=!3m1!1e3

If you follow the train tracks, back for a short distance, you'll see the building they used for the train station (The large building with Robin Hood Flour on the side). https://www.google.com/maps/@42.9102.../data=!3m1!1e3

It's the same building they used for some exterior shots, last season. Pretty funny that it is nowhere near the entrance to the train station, where they were going down the escalator.

Next to the building is an area where we sometimes go dirt biking. You can see trails running all over the place.
