I enjoyed it all. Plenty of good moments. Though not a perfect show that really hit me emotionally. It was still a joy. And I’m happy I binged it.
Glad to see the Douglas Adams link. At first I was like wtf in regards to the narration. I’ve watched that film 100 times and the BBC series once.

I think I've seen the commercial for this close to 100 times in the last couple days. I'm already annoyed with this show before even watching a single episode.

On TV. Some of the stations here have a habit of showing the same commercials (or a few commercials for the same product) over and over. Although I don't think I've ever seen an Amazon Prime show being advertised nearly as much as this has in a short period of time.

Facebook has this annoying habit of throwing an ad into the middle of popular videos. Lately that ad is nothing but the Good Omens trailer.

I thought she looked a bit like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Really enjoyed the series. Been 16 years since I read the book so I had forgotten most of it aside from the beginning and the end. The series seemed to have more of a Gaiman feel whereas the book seemed like he had done most of the overall story with Pratchett doing the dialogue.

two episodes in and enjoying it so far. Never saw Mireille Enos look so good. Almost didn't recognize her with the makeup and such, used to seeing her more dressed down in the Killing or Hanna.

It's hilarious that 20,00 Christians are petitioning Netfix to stop showing Good Omens.
"Gaiman responded to the petition on Twitter, writing: “I love that they are going to write to Netflix to try and get #GoodOmens cancelled. Says it all really. This is so beautiful ... Promise me you won’t tell them?”"

I didn't read the book but considered this another bad adaptation in the style of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Some humor doesn't translate to the screen.

Wait, which adaptation of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? The TV series or the movie? Because the TV version was pretty good.

I liked the movie adaptation too, it wasn't the source material but it was still fun

I love the movie. I’ve watched it many times. I haven’t read the book. I know people are very attached to it.
Listening to the commentary, I gathered it was very much Douglas Adams’ movie and he was giving input and ideas during early production (which was on and off for several years).

The movie adaptation is of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which had the original radio series, a book adaptation of the radio series, a TV adaptation of the radio series, sequel books, radio adaptations of the sequel books, and a movie adaptation of, probably, the first book, with some new material thrown in.

Really never expected to see any more of this...
Per TV Line...
Good Omens — which was initially conceived as a limited series — has been renewed for Season 2, Amazon Prime announced Tuesday. Michael Sheen and David Tennant will reprise their respective roles as the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley in six new episodes, which will begin filming in Scotland later this year.
Per Amazon, the second season “will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”

Wonder if this has anything to do with Sheen not being tied up with Prodigal Son anymore...

This is surprising to say the least. I enjoyed the limited series so will likely watch the second season but it makes me nervous that there is no source material to follow for the next season. Wonder if we get a simple re-tread or some kind of expanded storyline.

I wasn't a big fan of the first, but as I've mentioned to others, it's fun to watch David Tennant flouncing around England in garish outfits, so I'll probably watch this.

For a hint of what a season 2 could be like, Neil Gaiman wrote a COVID-19 lockdown short last year, basically a phone call between Aziraphale and Crowley. You can watch the short on Youtube:
Michael Sheen and David Tennant obviously like working together, as they also did the series Staged last year:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staged
Gaiman has spoken about the sequel plans before, including the title: 668—The Neighbour of the Beast
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_O...ossible_sequel
Gaiman's written a blog post, and revealed a bit about where the second season will start:

As Good Omens continues, we will be back in Soho, and all through time and space, solving a mystery which starts with one of the angels wandering through a Soho street market with no memory of who they might be, on their way to Aziraphale's bookshop.
(Although our story actually begins about five minutes before anyone had got around to saying “Let there be Light”.)

While this news isn't unwelcome, Good Omens was a perfect example of a self-contained novel that doesn't really need a prequel or sequel.
Though it is sort of frustrating when a one-and-done story like Good Omens continues, and other things like Castle Rock or Jupiter's Legacy get cancelled when there's still more source material to mine, or story to tell.

Although Jupiter's Legacy had some horrible marketing. I kept getting this image for the show when browsing Netflix:

It left me thinking "why would I want to watch a show featuring a weird old guy reading a book?" Maybe they thought the title had more brand recognition than it really did.
Back to Good Omens, as long as Gaiman is on board and has a legit idea for a second season, I'll proceed with cautious optimism.
