It was a good ending. They didn't wait too much to kill Danny. Jon reunited with Ghost, etc.

Well, thought that was about as good as they could have wrapped it up. Pretty solid season and a good way to go out.

Pretty good show.

As Sam mentioned there, he suggested the title years ago - in Season 6.

I've been telling people for the past few years that I thought no one would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and instead a dragon would melt it down. So I was surprised to get that kinda right, although I also thought it would be the end of a unified crown and all 7 kingdoms would be independent again, not just the North, so I was wrong about that part.

This season was rushed and entirely predictable. I understand the criticism. It was as if someone had said, "How do we wrap this up in the most efficient way possible? What's the minimum number of episodes that we need?" The season wasn't as bad as some say, but it was the worst of the series.

At the beginning of the season, I guessed that Jon would kill Daenerys. And before this episode, I was quite sure of it, and so were others. Earlier this week, a coworker said, "Oh, she's dying."

If they’d taken their time, given things a bit more breathing room and thought better of a handful of silly moments, I feel like they could’ve ended up where they did and it would have mostly felt fine. As it was done, I thought the last four episodes of this great show were pretty much shit. I certainly don’t feel like the time I spent watching (and rewatching most of the previous seasons) was wasted, but the end was bad enough that I’m completely uninterested in revisiting it anytime soon, possibly ever. It really felt like the showrunners just wanted to move on and gave notes on everyone’s fates to some interns to wrap things up.

I was completely bored during it. I’m just happy the show is over. I don’t even have the energy to hate it anymore.

^ Okey-Dokey.

Personally, I thought it was an outstanding finale. Hit a lot of the right notes , threw in a bit of a surprise or two, and wasn't as nihilistic as I was afraid it would be. Won't ever make up for the disappointment of Episode 3 and the utter failure of Episode 4, but it was a strong wrap-up and that was important.

I didn’t always hate it. I enjoyed it quite a bit until the last couple of seasons. Around season 6 or 7 I found more to dislike, but it was still a very watchable show. I never thought it compared favorably to the books, but it was good TV. I can’t say the same about the last two seasons.

I will say that episode two of this season, was very good, but I disliked the other five.

Sorry we can’t all find enjoyment in the same things. I’ve been watching since the show started. I wanted to see how it ended. Why would I stop watching with six episodes left?

god is in the details tonight, cause holy fucking hell that dragon pit scene WAS the pits,.thank you!! the comedy felt too contrived and for me the show went downhill faster than a hot dump from dragonass..

*i enjoyed the episode, but am left speechless for all the wrong reasons

Re: Game of Thrones (S8E06) -- 79 minute Series Finale -- “The Iron Throne” -- 5/19/19

God, I'm just glad that in another 2-3 days when people's miniscule attention spans move on I won't have to listen to everybody and their brother bitching about this show...

I generally liked the finale, myself, with the exception of how utterly Daernys' entire story arc was misplayed. She turned from Anakin to Darth Vader in about five minutes (I know it was foreshadowed throughout the series, but come on), showed not even the slightest bit of self-awareness of how over the top she was in "The Bells," and I'm sorry, but Emilia Clarke is not good enough of an actress to sell this character's motives to me (compared to say a Peter Dinklage, who is believable with even the worst of lines).

That said, I liked Bran the Broken, the general fates of the Stark siblings, and I rather liked poor ol' Jon Snow being exiled yet again.

I loved how Bran three-eyed-ravened his way into Drogon and told him:

Spoiler:

"Torch it, I have my own chair."

If you don't know how they found out Jon killed Dany, then you haven't been paying attention to the show at all. The Jon we've seen for so many seasons would have immediately confessed to the killing and turned himself in to Greyworm. There was no need to bother showing that. He's honorable to a fault and completely impractical about his own survival.

Personally, I greatly enjoyed this episode and felt it was a solid end to the series. Sure, parts of this season felt a little rushed, but not so much that it hurt my overall enjoyment.

Again:

Jon is in jail. Wait what? They found out Jon killed Dany (how???) and he's still alive?

That's beyond ridiculous.

I don't find it ridiculous at all. Greyworm's character was defined by unflinchingly following Dany's lead and carrying out her orders. With her dead, he had no orders to follow, so all he could adhere to was what she'd given him before she died. She had put him in charge of her military, but not in a position of judicial authority. Sure, he could have decided to murder Jon, but that would not have been very consistent with his character. He's a soldier driven by cold duty and not by raw emotion.

Waste of time.

Glad I saw John Wick 3 this weekend.

Also.. fuck Bran Stark. That little shit knew exactly what was going to happen and let thousands die.

Re: Game of Thrones (S8E06) -- 79 minute Series Finale -- “The Iron Throne” -- 5/19/19

It's over after eight seasons. What a ride, was I happy with the ending it not perfect but I'm satisfied. I was right on the Iron Throne getting melted down by Drogon. As where he taking Dany I have a theory that he bring her to a Red Priests or Priestess to have her resurrect like they did with Beric and Jon Snow but of course that wishful thinking and wouldn't happen.
