re: Game of Thrones (S8E05) -- 78 minute episode -- “The Bells” -- 5/12/19

My worth-2-cents predictions:
Spoiler:

1) The Lannisters go down tonite.
Tyrion might survive until the final episode, but it would work better dramatically if he didn't.
2) The final episode with be all about the Starks vs. the Targaryens.
The complication is Jon Snow is BOTH.
Unfortunately for him, the battery he got from the Red Witch runs out.
This will leave Dany on the Iron Throne, with Sansa in charge of the North.

There...take that!

I won't be able to watch until late tonight so if the internet can hold off on talking about it until around 10pm PST .. that'd be terrific. Thanks.

I binged it all this month and hope to be able to watch both episodes “live” to avoid spoilers.

Cersei dies giving birth to a new Night King.
Jaime’s hand grows back, but he loses both legs.
Drogon eats Tyrion.
Jon gets mauled by Nymeria on the way to Kings Landing and dies from his injuries.
Arya takes his face.
Hot Pie is revealed to be another one of Robert’s bastards and claims the Iron Throne.
Turns out Varys was lying about not having a dick. He’s actually diphallactic. And gives his extra dick to Greyworm, who then kills him for not giving it to him while Missandei was still alive.
Dani gets naked one last time.

I am, of course, joking, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of these thing actually happens.

I hope it’s the one about Dani...

Interesting 'random occurrence' brought up on the weekly In Deep Geek podcast.
Spoiler:

The episode in which Tywin is killed was broadcast on Father's Day.
Today is Mother's Day. Which one is it going to be, Dany or Cersai? Both?

OK, that's just funny.
I bet MILLIONS would pay good money to see that.
I hope it’s the one about Dani...

Spoiler:
My piggybank is on Cersei.
OTOH, it very easily could be Dany...or both, for that matter.

Apparently:

Spoiler:
Dany is a dragon. And will be "reborn" as (a motherfucking big ass) one when Cercei wins and torches her with wildfire.

Looks like the final episode is going to be the Starks with Tyrion vs Mad Queen Dany.

The overhead shot of Drogon flying to the red keep matched what was shown in Bran's vision back in S4.

I guess you only need one dragon to fuck shit up.

would've liked Cersei to go out more violently at the hands of somebody, but this worked too.

I really thought Jaime was going off to kill her... what a bastard for doing that to Brianne.

Dany was never a good queen. Now I think about it, everything she done was out of pride and a desire to be worshiped. She didn't free the slaves out of injustice, she got off on their praise. When that well ran completely dry tonight with Jon's rejection, her true nature arose. She could have just flown right to the red keep and took out Cersei. No need to roast everyone first.

Clegane-bowl felt like it was cut from Return of the King.

flying to the Red Keep and taking out Cersei first would have given D&D an impossible task - writing more of an episode.

I liked seeing the hidden wildfire making appearances during the attack.

Also, The Rains of Castamere in the credits.

Yea, last month I started a rewatch and I'm through the first 4 seasons. She is definitely about getting what she wants regardless of others. A brutal leader. I don't buy the argument that they changed her character this season. Her rage has been there since her marriage to Drogo, just controlled by whoever she had around her.

Ned was dead wrong about Robert having her killed back in S1, and that is right in line with the harshness of the world that GOT has always presented to us.

Just finished watching. Holy fuck, this season is draining me emotionally. I'm just glad to see Arya still seems to have some purpose in this yet. If she dies needlessly I swear to all that's holy I will openly and loudly weep for all I'm worth.
