The Society follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town, left without any trace of their parents. As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive. The series is a modern take on Lord of the Flies. Chris Keyser (The Last Tycoon, Tyrant, Party of Five) will write and executive produce the series that will span 10 episodes, and Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) will serve as director and executive producer. It was previously announced that Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies, Lady Bird) will star as "Allie," who has lived her entire life in the shadow of her more remarkable older sister Cassandra. Whatever Allie's strengths are, she has very little sense of them. Allie inspires her sister to take charge of the group as they are thrust in to the mysterious new world.

Did you continue on?

Curious on anyone’s thoughts.

Im debating doing this or What/If next. Just a matter of which comes first.

My kids seem to love it. Might check this out after I get through a few other shows (fleabag and Sneaky Pete are on my to do after finishing season 3 of Deadwood.)

Nope, it got bogged down.. I might try and restart in the summer, but I did fade out...

massive side note:
I noticed Amazon has Spiral, and if you haven't seen this Parisian Crime Drama, jump on it... I've been waiting for season 5 for 4 years as netflix stopped at 4.. I've forgotten most of the backstory, but man this show is good...

I dumped this part way through the second episode. I realized I hated every single actor/character on this show. Premise still seemed interesting though.

So I started watching The 100 season 2 instead.

Can't believe I had to dig this far back for this thread.

Waited until I finished the season before looking for it here.

Loved every second of it. Amazing story and an incredible young cast.

Can't wait for the 2nd season!

I'm surprised this show isn't more popular here. Just wrapped the first season. It was solid but far from perfect. Kinda Lord Of The Flies meets Lost.

I’ve been planning on it, just haven’t had the time. Maybe in August.

I didnt hate it would watch season 2

I wish there was more focus on the mystery about what happened, it only really started in the final episode

Finally got around this and really enjoyed it. Very much looking forward to the second season.

Re: The Society (Netflix) -- S: Kathryn Newton, EP: Marc Webb -- premieres 5/10/19

Started this one this morning and ended up binging the first 6 episodes back to back without any break. About to sit down to watch the rest of it now. Surprisingly really enjoyed every bit of it so far. Already looking forward to another season, hopefully it gets one. It reminds me of a cross between Under the Dome (trapped in a city) and The 100 (all kids the exact same age), except far better than Under the Dome ever was.
