What I do not understand is why is the episode title still withheld on the day of broadcast? Just seems silly and overly paranoid to me...

I liked how this mirrored the first episode of the series a bit with the kid all excited about the knights and Queen like Arya was. And ending with Jamie and Bran.

So many great reunions. So many lol moments. More than series combined. It had it all. Great fucking entertainment. The Yara/Theon stuff was my favorite...for some reason. Can’t believe 5 left. Just enjoy the ride...

Bran tells Sam that he was out there waiting for an old friend. I thought he was talking about Sam, but was that actually Jamie?
Episode set up some interesting plot lines that I never saw coming. Will Bron really kill the Lannister brothers? Sam horrified that the queen murdered his family and might turn Jon against Dany.

Yea, definitely seemed to imply Jamie, though understandable to at first think he was referring to Sam.

I doubt Bron will. If he has any sense he'll find Gendry's boat and go in the opposite direction of everyone else.

It would be pretty crazy if Bronn ends up killing Tyrion.

According to tvdb it's King's Landing, probably a mistake.

Great episode. I want to talk about the sound design because it was awesome. In the opening scene I could hear the crowd and horses all around me. It was incredibly immersive.

I think an official HBO sanctioned app is the most trustworthy source over that site.

About that last bit, where the heck are they? Is that the bunch who saw the ice dragon melt the wall and are scrambling to get back to Castle Black?

And I don't think Bronn will carry out that task. He's always been pragmatic (i.e. I want to live) about the endeavors he chose to accept. He probably just took the money so that Cercei doesn't kill him if he refuses.

great start. I am glad they didn’t delay the reveal of Jon’s parentage for too long.
If Bran isn’t Bran anymore but the three eyed raven, would he really call Jaime an old friend? I guess if he believe Jaime causing his fall helped him become the three eyed raven

Re: Game of Thrones (S8E01) -- Season Premiere -- "Winterfell" -- 4/14/19

I loved it. Great start. Lots of great character moments. I'm actually glad I watched that 52 minute recap. There was a lot that I had forgotten about the show in the 2 years its been off the air.

Loved the scene where Jon Snow learned of his true lineage. Also great scene where he reunited with Arya. Funny how a lot of these actors worked together, but a lot of them haven't been seen on screen together in years. Some of these characters haven't been seen on screen together since back in season 1. Also liked seeing how cold Sansa was to Dany. Dany has really turned into an arrogant jerk.

I kind of felt bad for Samuel. He knows that Dany and Jon are together, but this is the woman who ordered the execution of his father and brother.

That final scene with the dead Umbar boy screaming while being burned was creepy.

I chose to watch this tonight on HBO Go and there's a shit load of bonus features on it. Lots of interviews with the cast and the Inside the Episode plays right after the episode wraps.

Yea that was the group that was at the wall when it fell. They are at one of the two Castle's they argued about in s7 when Sansa wanted to take them from that family because they turned on the Starks, but Jon said he wouldn't take it from family that held it for hundreds of years or whatever and then the lil shit pledged Loyalty but clearly went home then sent them raven telling them fuck off .

that was the absolute perfect way to end the episode with Jaime seeing Bran again after all this time. Looked like he was ready to shit in his pants. Guess he assumed the little shit died after he pushed him off that ledge 7 seasons ago.

Not that many episodes left now, but I'm think Dany will turn into the "Mad Queen" once she finds out that Jon Snow is the true King. I have a hunch, but her arrogance is acting like foreshadowing to that possibility.

Bronn ought to know that if he killed the brothers that Cersei would turn around and have have him killed. She would pay her debts, then kill Bronn and take the gold back.

Plus, I would hope that Bronn has some feelings down deep that would prevent him from sinking that low.. Besides, he wants his castle!

Welcome back.
Hard to believe it has been 2 years.Only 6 episodes, but almost each one gets longer and longer.
I binged watched the first 7 seasons last year, but still need a refresher.
Off to great start.

'The Hound': You left me to die.

Arya Stark: First, I robbed you

The Hound : You are a cold little bitch, aren't you?
Guess that is why you are still alive.
LOL

I think it was a little bit of sarcasm.

Jamie knew he survived the fall.

I imagine most still think Bran was burned by Theon when he took Winterfell.

I assumed the Bronn story line was to give the show a reason to keep Jerome Flynn around this season. He's not really a journey North to fight Whitewalkers kind of guy. It is amusing that they needed to use Qyburn to offer the deal since of course he can't be in the same scenes as Cersei.
