The Emmy(R)-winning comedy series VEEP kicks off its seven-episode, seventh and final season SUNDAY, MARCH 31 (10:30-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. The show stars Emmy(R) and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer, who is hitting the campaign trail as she runs for president. The ensemble cast of the show also includes: two-time Emmy(R) winner Tony Hale as Gary, her devoted bodyman; Emmy(R) nominee Anna Chlumsky as Amy, her right hand; Emmy(R) nominee Matt Walsh as Mike, her former spokesperson; Reid Scott as the ultra-ambitious Dan; Timothy C. Simons as Jonah Ryan, a former hanger-on turned congressman; Kevin Dunn as Ben, her campaign manager; Emmy(R) nominee Gary Cole as analyst Kent; Sam Richardson as unassuming staffer Richard; and Sarah Sutherland as Catherine, Selina's daughter. Recurring guest stars on the new season include: Clea DuVall as Marjorie, Catherine's girlfriend; Margaret Colin as Jane McCabe; Patton Oswalt as Teddy Sykes; and Brian Huskey as Leon West, Selina's spokesman.

The new season of VEEP finds Selina Meyer trying to gain traction in early primary states, wooing uber-wealthy donors while navigating threats from primary challengers, including aide-turned-congressman Jonah Ryan. Selina's band of misfits is also back, except for Mike, who's been banished from her orbit and is now covering the presidential campaign, having been replaced by his ongoing nemesis in the press, reporter Leon West. Meanwhile, Amy is figuring out how she feels about her pregnancy vis-a-vis Dan, who seems unwilling to give up his playboy ways for fatherhood. Rounding out the team are ever-faithful bagman Gary, cantankerous Ben, numbers-obsessed Kent and staffer Richard.
7 episode final season.

With real life politics becoming as crazy as this show has been, I wonder if they're gonna make it even more crazy for the final season.

Damn... didn't think they would go there, but they did and it seemed to work.

VEEP is back.

I should not be watching this at work... I'm sitting in my cubicle losing it over "Sorry Amy, I just had to get away from Blue is the most annoying color"

Solid return but I cringed with the shooting story lines. Actually a lot of cringe worthy moments but that's generally why I missed this show. Gotta say JLD looks amazing this season! Good on her for kicking cancers ass!!

It got funnier when it seemed there was a new mass shooting every 5 minutes... which isn't that far off from reality.

Selina: We have to send that shooter a nice thank you card
Richard: Actually, he shot himself before he can be apprehended. I'll send something to his wife. Oh, actually he shot her first.

No one noticed Catherine was suffering from postpartum depression... and Dan actually thought she seemed happier.

Jonah marrying his step-sister and all everything he said to explain/defend it was just too funny.

I really missed this show.

It bugged me trying to figure out who the actress playing Tom Jane's "Amy" was. I knew she'd been in another show I'd seen countless episodes of but couldn't retrieve it from my aging brain. It took until the end credits for me to realize it was Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul.

I love this show so much, so glad it's back.

That line was fantastic. It must be a blast to write for this show.

This episode didn't have many amazing quotes - but it was still funny.

It's hilarious how stupid Jonah can be, and how self-aware he isn't.

Something I only noticed yesterday - 4 shows I'm watching has one of its main characters named "Amy" (Veep, Big Bang Theory, B99, and Superstore).
Did Hollywood run out of female names to use?

I'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned Rhea Seehorne from Better Call Saul as Tom James' campaign manager (although she seems somewhat wasted in the role.) Loving how the show crosses the line so easily and frequently. Johanna is so cringey!

Love that they're basically just taking a lot of their material from the current political climate.

The insults are flying fast and furious, even if they're not meant to be insults.

"Have a good weepy slide down the shower wall this evening"

Mike: Hope you got the invite to the baby shower. Hint, we could still use the changing table - or bye-bye ping-pong
Selina: Oh, that's actually a cute name. Are you going to keep that?

Yeah, it's like they realized they could never out-crazy real life, so they are showing just how crazy the current situation is. Life imitating art imitating life (or maybe the other way around)!
