I don't know if it was limited to DirectV or not but there have been multiple screw-ups with ads popping into the middle of scenes. It's not like this episode wasn't a chore to watch already.

“I’ve got to move around to make sure these stitches hold, anyways.” — Henry
I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure that’s the exact opposite of what you are supposed to do with stitches ... so, yeah. Falls right in line with TWD.

This is batshit silly ... possibly the single worst episode of the entire series. That takes a lot of work to accomplish.

Nevermind, don’t worry about it. None of it #*@$ing matters.
It is a shame that they came back to this season with a chance at a bit of a fresh start. New show runner, new focus ... they even came back with a bit of a spark and a few good episodes ... and this #$*@ing sucks again.

Someone doesn't know an edit button exists so you don't have to spam multiple posts. Most forums I visit would hand out suspensions for that kind of stuff. o.O
Thought it was a decent episode myself. The back-n-forth between timelines was a little jarring in that occasionally I wasn't sure what time we were being shown, but it all ended up coming together alright and finally explaining somethings that needed it, like the x's and why Michonne was so against helping everyone.

So that was the whole thing with the scar that happened during the first 9 months of the 6 year time-jump?
We're introduced to a character we've never seen, she's dead and it's over in one episode. All to show why Michonne was guarded, stubborn and selfish.
Didn't we go through this not trusting/helping people numerous times in the past, only to be convinced that they should? Even with a kid teaching that adult that lesson (ie. Carl with Rick)? This is just re-treading the same stuff again with slightly different scenarios.
The girl who plays Judith did a wonderful job in the scene with Michonne near the end. You don't get that type of a performance from an 11 year old often.

I was only halfway watching so the nonlinear story really had me confused at first. All I could think was “Who the fuck knocked up Michonne, and why wasn’t she showing until now?”

This the reason I completely gave up on live tv for shows and movies or DVR recordings from a “live broadcast”. I watch them from on demand now.

artsy fartsy time jumps in engaging well made shows is a chore enough.
artsy fartsy time jumps in a terrible show with characters I don't give a shit about is insufferable.

Glad I am not the only one with the issue with the commercial breaks that was annoying in an already annoying episode.

Yeah... Jeezus... what was the deal with the commercials?
At 0:08 and 0:38 they dropped commercials on top of scenes, effectively cutting several minutes out of the broadcast. I don’t know if it was AMC doing it, or DirecTV, but it sucked. I hope it was just a mistake and not something they’re going to start doing.

Yeah, the editing and direction were horrible in this episode. They really should have made the flashbacks black and white, or sepia tinted. It was dificult to keep track of the timelines, especially when Michonne was wearing a similar sweater in both. And, of course, Darryl never changes his clothes.

Yeah, another useless episode. Re: the timelines, I just found myself constantly looking for Michonne's belly.
The attack on the kids was mildly entertaining/disturbing, but Michonne didn't have a choice.
I'm surprised that the actor playing Judith is 11. She's tiny. What's her character age supposed to be? 8?
I didn't notice the commercial issues. Perhaps they didn't affect the Canadian broadcast. Although we watch on PVR, so we skip ahead during commercials, so maybe we just missed it.

The commercials must have been a DirecTV thing because watching the show on AMC up here in Canada had no issues - with the commercials at least.
I didn't mind the episode - I don't mind the episodes that dig deeper into a character's motives and didn't feel like this needed to drag on for more than one ep - but my wife hated the back and forth. I had to say "present" or "past" when each segment started, just to help her keep the timelines straight. Though I screwed it up sometimes if the colour grading was especially subtle.
I did like that the neighbourhood kids had a new bike this week and it's already been abandoned out in the wild.

Show is leaning too heavily on Daryl and Michonne. Norman Reedus pretty much coasted the past 4-5 seasons. Now he's actually got dialogue and needs to do stuff, feels pained and forced. And actress playing Michonne simply cannot emote. Flashback with the kids was all kinds of stupid, and annoying to follow. Fear the Walking Dead had the same stupid "you need to be strong to survive" deranged plotline.
Show goofed not having Negan and Saviors win the war. Would've been way more and better storylines there.

Does anyone know when Fear the Walking Dead starts? I remember last year it premiered the same night as the TWD season finale, but that was done to hook viewers with Morgan moving over. I haven't seen anything about FTWD starting anytime soon.
