Re: Luke Perry (90210, Riverdale) suffers "massive stroke"

This is seriously sad news for me as I am a huge 90210 fan even though I'm 42. I wonder if he wrapped up Quentin Tarantino's next movie.

I know a bunch here bailed on Riverdale, but he's been solid as Archie's Dad even though the show has gone off the rails. I'm sure the cast of the show is stunned right now and I really don't know if they can or will address his passing. It's only March, so I'm sure they're still filming and could write in Fred's passing.

Sad news. I never watched Riverdale but I was a fan of 90210 back on the day. Oddly, I never watched it when it originally aired but got into it when it was re-running daily in syndication.

RIP Sideshow Luke Perry

Luke Perry R.I.P.

I always thought he did a great job in Normal Life opposite Ashley Judd. An under-appreciated gem!

He’s almost the exact age I am, so this is making me think about my diet and will and stuff more than the normal.

So sad. He was great on 90210 and adds a ton of maturity and class to Riverdale (which I still enjoy). Always seemed like a really decent guy too. RIP

Re: Luke Perry (90210, Riverdale) suffers "massive stroke" [Update: Dead at 52]

Any idea what caused the stroke yet?

This is really sad.

I was a teen when 90210 came out and was an early adopter watching it from the very beginning. I had to watch it with a TV that had an antenna because FOX was new and wasn't carried by our cable company yet at that time.

Then I went to college and 90210 was one of the few shows that we watched consistently throughout college when it was airing. Everyone game me shit because they said I looked like Brian Austin Green. But no one made fun of a bunch of guy sitting around watching 90210 which is kinda surprising looking back.

This really sucks. I am 46 and it shows you can go at any time. Did he have any kids?

No idea. He probably had high blood pressure, which is the primary cause.

Report said he was with his 2 children, fiance and ex-wife when he passed.

Re: Luke Perry (90210, Riverdale) suffers "massive stroke" [Update: Dead at 52]

Yeah odds are we won't find out exactly what caused it unless the family releases some of his medical info (ie: family history, high blood pressure, Prescriptions he was on, head trauma, hell, if he was using Ibuprofen or another NSAID, or decongestants, or even just dehydrated) and even then still might not.

All it takes is a small clot in the wrong area.

I watched him on 90210, but whenever I see him in anything else the first thing that comes to my mind is that small but memorable role in The Fifth Element.

RIP Luke

Due to his seemingly lean body type, I think we'll possibly find out a lot more about what actually caused this. For a massive stroke to happen, a lot has to occur. It does not happen overnight. He was probably under some kind of medication that was meant treat other issues, and we may never know what those were (do we really need to).

Might be going against everyone else's opinion, but I really liked Luke Perry's roles in western films. Contemporary films not so much, as it seemed Perry had a way of being that classic and rustic kind of guy we don't see these days.

Revival could still happen, but only if it mentions the absence of Dylan due to an unforeseen death--have a funeral for Dylan in the revival. Stick with reality, the movie/miniseries might do well.

When I saw his pic today and RIP next to it on CNN I pretty much felt shocked again. What a shame this happened suddenly to a young fine actor.

RIP Luke

Re: Luke Perry (90210, Riverdale) suffers "massive stroke" [Update: Dead at 52]

He was a staple of my teenage years, along with his co-stars, but I always found his character the most compelling on 90210. I was enjoying his run as Archie's dad on Riverdale and am sad to see it come to an end. RIP, Luke. From all accounts, he was a good man.

Scary he was not obese and this happened to him.

Didn't he get comparisons to James Dean not in acting but in style and looks?
