Does it bother anyone else that everybody except Kelly is looking off in the distance to the left, and Kelly seems to have her attention on Ed?

Can a robot actually give consent?

So Dr Finn, who seems to also act as the ship's psychologist, is emotionally invested in a relationship with an emotionless robot, and pursues this relationship exclusively in a fantasy environment.

Nice that Mark Jackson and Norm McDonald got to show their faces.

I'm suffering Halston Sage withdrawal. The new actress just isn't doing it for me.

I don’t know if that was a good move to have Alara replaced by a similar looking character. Especially when the new character hasn’t really been given anything interesting to do so far.

Odd episode. It’s like the B story of a Trek episode, meant to lighten the mood from the more dramatic A story. But here we get 45 minutes of B story. I did like Isaacs breakup moves :)

It might have been the damn good beer coursing through me but I laughed out loud every time at Bortus’ moustache.

Somewhat silly episode, but the coda was well done.

Yeah, not a good look for "the most well adjusted person on the ship." Not far removed from lonely dudes relationships with online cam girls.

But that silliness aside: NORM!!!

I also thought the mustache bit was pretty funny. But the best was the robot acting like an ass to get Dr Finn to break up with him.

Even though it was a silly premise, I liked this better than their attempts at serious plots, which end up looking unintentionally silly anyway. At least this was supposed to be absurd.

I really enjoyed this episode. Beautifully crafted, especially with the music selections. The symphony playing against the backdrop of space was great.

And maybe because I found this episode relatable. Not the robot love haha, but me hanging out with a friend the past few weeks (she invited me to gym workouts together) and developing feelings. Did not expect that, so I enjoyed this episode from a personal perspective.

Kind of an unexpected episode but I liked it. My 2 favorite characters on the show are Gordon and Isaac so I'm a sucker for any episode that heavily features either one of them.

At first I thought the rain on the bridge was out-of-character for Isaac to do something like that, but then thinking about it more I guess his research on romance probably lead him to discover that surprising someone with a present is a good thing, so he concluded that it would be better to surprise her that way.

So when they were putting together the Orville they said "Well we need to make sure environmental systems on the bridge can be anything. Never know when they may need it to rain or snow on the bridge or something."

Good planning.

Not just how it "works". Think about that the guys had to program the damn thing in detail.

The Norm (physical) cameo had me laughing out loud pretty hard. Looked like he had trouble doing the lines straight-faced too.

I think this is an important question considering 1/3 of the current season has used them as a plot device.
