I’m guessing from the cigarette it was a threat from the guy who was watching Perry leave Hooverville after he visited the Gallardos.

This season seems to be more of a slow burn than last season. I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

Shit just hit the fan. Only two episodes left and I have no idea where this season is going to end up.

I love that they actually film the exteriors in SoCal as that unique natural lighting is hard to fake and just makes all the sets seem that much more authentic. I would watch this for production design alone.

I remember almost nothing about season 1 other than a few general things. Will I be lost when I start up s2 or am I good to jump back in?

I think you'll be fine. There are very few callbacks to S1. There are a couple of characters that made it over to S2, though. S1 also has Perry Mason's WWI origin story, which S2 doesn't highlight anymore. It's like the producers said, we've shown them enough of Mason's WWI PTSD, let's move it along.

There were some developments off-screen between S1 and S2 about the case in season 1 but it’s all explained and you don’t have to recall events from the first season.

Yeah, you should be fine. With the exception of a few things here and there, season 2 involves a completely new case.

Yeah I'm digging this season as well. God I hope the new guys at HBO decide to renew it. This is a show that could run for years.

Man is this show good. Loved that twist at the end. Did not see that one coming at all, great misdirection.
Only one episode left this season. Still waiting on that renewal.

Yeah, just a phenomenal season. Wraps up very satisfyingly, albeit a little sad.
Please bring it back Max! I want more.

Agreed. This was a fantastic season. As much as I enjoyed season 1, this season was so much better.
They laid a little bit of ground work for possible storylines for season 3. Hopefully we get it.

Finished up the season and thought things wrapped up well. I was worried as the last so was only 45 minutes, but they packed a lot into the last ~10 minutes.
I was surprised that they two (well one) really were responsible. There seemed to be a lot of flip flopping. Also, not sure why you’d return the gun to the guy. I suppose either way their names were going to be given up as it was all planned.
I was also surprised by Drake’s story. Especially with the episode featuring the tennis shoes. I actually thought what he did to the other guy was much worse. Turns out he just roughed him up.
I was also pleased with how much screen time and plot Della had. One of the stronger parts of the season.
Really hope we get another season, and hope it’s not 3 years until the next.

Yup, expensive period show that took 3 years for the 2nd season to air, that's a recipe for cancellation. Especially in this day and age when there's just so much to watch.
