The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

Colton Underwood burst onto the scene during season 14 of "The Bachelorette." It was his good looks, love for dogs and vulnerability that charmed not only Bachelorette Becca Kufrin, but all of Bachelor Nation. This former NFL player made a play for Becca's heart but was sadly sent home after professing he had fallen in love. Now Colton is back and ready to capture hearts across America yet again when he returns for another shot at love as the star of the 23rd season of ABC's hit romance reality series "The Bachelor," premiering MONDAY, JAN. 7 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. During its 22nd season, ABC's "The Bachelor" dominated its 2-hour time period among Adults 18-49 and stood as Monday's No. 1 television series with Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34. Colton, 26, notably spoke to Becca very candidly about his virginity during season 14 of "The Bachelorette," and won over America when he opened up about the sensitive topic during an emotional conversation on "The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All" reunion.

It was THREE HOURS last night. The live show with the house parties was painful to watch, and you might as well call the season "Colton's Quest". I would have cut every woman who made virgin or deflowering jokes. Its going to be a trainwreck of a season. I'll know more of the names after a few episodes.

The nicest one seems to be the speech pathologist.. Don't remember her name.

Well I'm still learning the names of the women. I liked Hannah the blonde, and Tracy seems to be the villian of the season. They really seemed to highlight her being the oldest at 31. I didn't even count how many virgin references they made last night.

EDIT: It's Elyse who is 31, as I said I'm still learning the names.

This season is a bit "meh" so far. There's always drama but nobody appears to be bat-shit crazy.

I tried watching the first episode and an hour in, with the actual arrivals not even starting yet, I was done. I have no interest in viewing parties hosted by some of the most unlikable people to ever be on this show. Maybe keep that shit at 2 hours and ditch the nonsense.

Well tonight is supposed to be a very special episode of the Bachelor. One of the girls discusses her sexual assault. The pageant drama has been pretty dumb so far this year.

Well I haven’t really commented here because I didn’t know who was still watching. I think Colton pretty much threw away this opportunity on being the Bachelor for Cassie and she doesn’t seemed interested at all. It’s was very uncomfortable watching him shake through their painful conversation.

I think this season gave us the most batshit crazy women cast in a single season ever. The women tell all tomorrow night looks like itís going to be an episode of Jerry Springer.

Yeah, been a good season, even though Colton is pretty dull. Then again, it's always the cast that makes it entertaining, not the Bachelor/Bachelorette. I thought since day 1 that Cassie was going to be the winner...well, I got close. He clearly liked her best so will be interesting to see what he does next week.

The Women Tell All Show is pretty much a shitshow.

Re: The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

I caught up on Monday's episode... some pretty entertaining stuff overall. I can't see this ending well. If Cassie comes back around and now says she "loves" Colton, she's going to look like an idiot. I guess that wouldn't be the first time someone on reality TV looks that way though.

I assume Colton has set the record for most rejections in a season.

Watched the first half of the women-tell-all show -- good catty stuff.

They could probably put this entire cast of women on next season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Re: The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

Like most seasons, i watch skipping a lot

I must say there were some stunners this season. The two pageants girls obviously and Hannah G (amazing eyes) stood out, but plenty i would do

It was hard hearing Caelene talk about her college sexual assault

Didn't like Cassie, good luck to Cassie and Colton

Hannah B is an unusual choice for the Bachelorette given she had the beef with Caelene. Most of what i read seems to put her in a better light than Calene

She seems a bit too ditzy to be the Bachelorette, especially compared to the verbal elegance of Rachael

Re: The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

My biggest complaints were the constant virgin jokes and references and it didn't always seem like Cassie was into Colton. It was nice to see it end with them as a couple instead of forcing an engagement. The women of this season will be awesome for Paradise and I'm sure we'll see a lot of them on tv again this summer

Re: The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

I didn't care for Hannah B during the show as it seemed she was "in character"... but I really do believe she's awkward and odd and she'll actually make for a pretty charming bachelorette. I really though Hannah G was beautiful and would make a great bachelorette too. It'd be cool to have a dual-bachelorette season.

Re: The Bachelor (ABC) -- Season 23 Thread -- premieres 1/7/19

Yeah Demi and some of the others in paradise will be fun

I don't like how they have to have all these races when ultimately, you know what race will be chosen

I knew from day one that Rachael Lindsay would choose a white guy and in this season, Colton would choose a white girl, no way in hell he would choose a black girl

Thats not because he's racist, it's because that is his type. and your not going to go against your type when choice is abundant.
