13 episode second season premieres tonight

Last season had 600+ posts in 1 thread. Seems like most of you want this to be a weekly discussion, so here you are.

FYI, moves to Thursdays at 9pm this upcoming week. And episode 2 is apparently leftover from season 1. It's actually season 1 episode 12.

Looking forward to this. Will be interesting to see if tone of the show changes a little from last year. It was all over the place.

love this show, a real surprise.... but it feels like it was last on a lifetime ago.

Not the season premiere I was expecting, but I enjoyed it.

I was expecting a more adventurous episode. But I like this show more for the comedy than the adventure.

So... it looks like Jason Alexander is Olix, the bartender, and Will Sasso was Mooska, the restauranteur.

Anyways, I loved the episode... glad to have it back, but I was a bit disappointed in the “ceremony” in that we didn’t get to see it (I thought they were going to go the way of “stage fright” with the inaction).

The drive by was a funny touch though.

I hear ya.

I was hoping the actress playing "Kelly" would get that ridiculous 3rd eye removed during the off-season...alas, not to be.

Next weeks episode is a left over from Season 1 (originally episode 12, the episode 12 that aired was ep 13)

Even though this is a show I 'hate watch' its nice to have something new to see during this time of the year when nothing else is on.

Still not getting all the love for this but I'm onboard until they pull the plug.

Any idea why they are choosing to burn these episodes off now? I thought I had read the ratings were pretty solid but it seems like they didn't even bother promoting this returning.

I wouldn't even know it was going to be on if I didn't notice the thread on here being created.

I've been seeing/hearing ads for the show's return for a good month. But since this aired "after football" the last segment was cut off because the local post game guys went a little long. Had to watch it off the Fox site.

Not one of my favorite episodes of the series so far. But it wasn't terrible.

Not sure why, but I liked that they used the "As Time Goes By" piano music. Was somewhat expecting to hear a Casablanca quote at some point.

I continue to think they have the weirdest cuts to commercials of any show. They are just so weird.

Staggeringly good show - been waiting so long for this to return and it did not disappoint. If only Star Trek Discovery had a scintilla of the style of The Orville.

They wanted it to have at least one football lead-in which works infinitely better than standard advertising. Its only other launch would have been January 13th which was likely too late for Fox.

Now it goes back to Thursday.

Raising normal teenagers on a starship. I liked that sub-plot.

This was good, but seemed a weak episode for a season opener.

GREAT IDEA...too bad it didn't work out that way. :(

I really liked this episode- it dealt with real issues that TNG/Trek never dealt with. Teenagers doing normal things like experimenting with drugs/alcohol and admitting that some alien species are just less physically attractive to others.

The whole main plot of Bortus needing to return to his home planet once a year to urinate was a total rip on TOS' Ponn Farr episode. Would have loved to see something really strange happen when Bortus started to urinate- like a huge explosion.

Cassius had the best line of the episode, "I hope you remembered to wash your hands".

Who's the actress who plays the Dark Matter scientist? She's super attractive.

Yup, I bailed after 20 min. To me, this show is going in the opposite direction compared to Discovery, i.e. from good to mediocre.

Yeah, I was expecting some kind of gag there... after all of that build-up he would just release a little squirt, or blast like a firehose, or someone would get peed on.

Then I remembered it’s on a commercial broadcast network and not cable, so they probably weren’t going to show anyone actually pee.

I thought the crew, who attended Bortus's ceremony, was going to wear ponchos haha

This. THG never had normal kids. Wesley Crusher became almost instantly unlikable and the only time a TNG kid got into trouble was when a girls imaginary friend became real. (I’m not counting Wesley dropping out of the academy and joining the Maqiis because he was old enough to know better by then)

They could have shown anything from an off angle- like a waterfall, or even flames.

Loved the new episode of the season. I love how they treated such a silly event seriously. There were only a few pee jokes.
