So the slut sauce was Hitchcock & Scully's undoing? I can totally see that.

Nice finally seeing a sort of origin story for Hitchcock and Scully - and that slut-sauce was their kryptonite.

I didn't think the second episode was as funny as the first, but the Hitchcock and Scully past was worth it alone. That was awesome to see.

Gina: Oh no you didn't, Gina.
Quentin: Did you just "Oh no you didn't" yourself?
Gina: Someone had to.

Yes, Amy certainly looked good last night, although I got more enjoyment from the fact that she was sexually aroused by Jake having perfect attendance in high school.

But my biggest laugh from the whole episode was for personal reasons. See, I DID start a ska band in the 90s. Right as we were taking off, recording and gigging regularly, I got sacked. I will admit, I was more than a little bitter about it. But the thing is, the band is still together playing the exact same kind of music. I do still like ska, but I think I'd kill myself if I'd been playing it non stop for the last 25 years. But the part in last night's episode that had me rolling was the outfit that Jake's bandmate had on. My former bandmates dress EXACTLY like that to this day.

I feel like they have definitely been making her a much more sexualized character this year.

I still enjoyed it, but this was one of those times I saw a couple of the jokes coming from far off: the identity of the tattler and the fact that Gina was pitching to another liar.

There wasn't anything wrong with how things played out. I guess I'm just used to being more surprised by the show, but this one felt a little more obvious. I loved Holt realizing the joys of being unproductive

Or maybe the shows has just turned you into a better detective.

Tonight's episode had it's moments (the Jake-Gina stuff), but as a character Gina always worked better in smaller doses, and that was a lot of Gina.

Yea, but I can forgive it since it's her last episode and her leaving was the whole story line of the episode.

I do like how original her character is. We often see recycled characters on sitcoms... the genius, dummy, straight-laced, slut/pig, etc... but I don't think I've seen a character like her before - at least not in full. She's a narcissist who's extreme over-confidence has no basis in reality. She lives in a fantasy world and also knows it.

Scully and Hitchcock make the opening credits. Seems like they could have found a better use for Rob Riggle.

I noticed that as well. Was this the first episode they were added? I don't remember seeing them in previous episodes this season. It would be weird to include them 5 episodes in.

I really like 4-drink Amy.

I wasn't paying attention, but i'm guessing they probably took Chelsea Peretti's spot.

They did. They also digitally erased Chelsea Peretti (and moved Boyle over) from the squad outside walk at the end of the credits.

Holy shit... I totally forgot that Gina left and wasn't in the episode nor the credits. Didn't put 2+2 together to realize Scully/Hitchcock's inclusion in the credits was related to her leaving.

I would be happy if I never saw him again.
He must have pictures of someone or the best agent in history. Is there anything he doesn’t appear in?

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (now on NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- premieres 1/10/19

I was watching this with the daughter the other night. She had given up on the show two or three seasons ago. While we were watching she commented that she didn't remember it being this much fun. I don't think it's all that different from when she dropped it, but I do think there are a lot of folks like her that sort of dismissed it out of hand in a "how could this be any good" way. So now she's back to watching with me.

That said, the wife still give it a "Three Stooges" disapproving smirk when I chuckle at it.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (now on NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- premieres 1/10/19

It's extremely rare of me to successfully pick a good comedy from the original air date. Usually if I like a sitcom from the original air date, it gets cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.

All the good sitcoms (Friends, Seinfeld, etc), I started watching many years later.

However, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I picked a good one!

He's the nicest guy in the world and everyone in comedy likes him.
