Good finish for the cross-over, but the most important bit was at the end:

2019 - Crisis on Infinite Earths

It'll be interesting to see just how ambitious they'll be next fall.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

Thought it was kind of funny how Superman continually has to say how much better Supergirl is than him, yet they had to have him use the book because she couldn't.

Anyhow, next crossover seems like it'll be nice. Having to wait a year though for the conclusion to what began with this crossover is gonna be killer though.

Overall good cross over but they didn't stick the landing for me. I thought there would be more made of fallen heroes ending from all the shows.

Wow Supergirl is terrible, I was like standing and cheering for part 1, watching with interest part 2, on my iPad halfway through for part 3. Really expected too much after part 1. I actually read Crisis on Infinite Earths for this which is kind of crappy. I mean Knightfall aged better than that.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

Thought this was more or less good, but they definitely did not stick the landing in it.

The bad of the crossover:

-They are so close, and yet so far away when it comes to how they portray Superman on this show. Tyler is great, I like the costume and it comes so close to being a perfect portrayal of what makes Superman a great character. BUT they seem to have this fascination with always having him get his ass kicked, and always having him tell Kara how much better than him she is. Like another poster said, it's even more goofy since Superman was the only one who could open the book and rewrite history which felt like an Olive Branch they were trying to give. Also did he really need to be saved by Lois Lane?

-John Wesley Shipp was totally wasted in this crossover.

-Seriosuly, Berlantiverse you know that there is other parts to being fascists than picking on the LBTQ community right? Seems like thats the only thing they think applies.

-I thought Batwoman sucked and she looked even worse in terms of her role in the Batman mythos when compared to how great they are portrayed on Titans with Robin. It doesn't help that they went the gimmick casting route with her and cast someone who could not out act a kindergarten Christmas pagent.

-Actually part 2 in and of itself feels like the odd episode out. You could watch part 1 and part 3 and basically feel like you got the entire story with 1 or 2 scenes added. Part 2 just felt like filler.

-Not sure how I feel about Superman leaving Earth, and them possibly bringing Christopher Kent in.

-I don't think they went far enough with the Elseworlds concept. Part of the fun of the Elseworlds comics were putting familiar characters in unfamiliar situations(What if Batman became Green Lantern, What if Superman landed in Russia, What if Thomas and Martha Wayne found baby Kal El being some of my favorites). But it did not feel like they played around with the concept of it enough outside of Barry and Oliver switching and Deegan becoming Superman.

The Good:

-I did more or less like seeing Superman in this crossover and I could not help but feel that ther is a superior Superman show that could be made.

-I like how this episode basically felt like a live action version of Red Son or Injustice set in America.

-Liked the parts with the book being rewritten and the scenes of the two Supermen fighting.

-I'm kind of curios what Oliver's price he paid to The Monitor was. For awhile I thought we were going to get a One More Day scenario where he sacrifices his marriage.

-I will say the Batwoman costume did look cool. Nice combination of the 60's series and comic book looks.

-Thankfully they kept the Supergirl supporting charcaters away for the most part, but we could have used more Brainy and J'onn and less Alex and James.

-I'm really intrigued by Crisis on Infinite Earths coming next year. That is ambitious as hell especially if they are able to bring back Dean Cain as Superman, Helen Slater as Supergirl, Shipp as The Flash etc.

So overall I enjoyed it but I don't feel like it was their best one. I liked Crisis on Earth X better, and would probably put this behind the Dominator's one or possibly tie it with the Dominator's one. Like I said Part 1 was awesome, Part 2 was ok and Part 3 was enjoyable but still felt like it could have been better.

Was the actor playing James Olsenin the crossover the same one it’s been all along? I haven’t watched the show for a while but it sure didn’t look like Mehcad Brooks.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

And just for fun here are the Superman Easter eggs I caught in the final episode:

-James saying he is Superman's worst pal is of course a play on Jimmy Olson being Superman's pal.

-The object that Cisco is told not to touch in the Fortress of Solitude is the Phantom Zone projector.

-Obviously the Fortress of Solitude is designed similar to the Chris Reeve Superman movies.

-The Superman black costume that Deegan wears is a reference to the Kryptonian Recovery suit he wore after being resurrected from his fight with Doomsday. It was also in the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League in a scene where Superman has to choose to wear his black suit(and be evil), or his blue suit(and be good).

-Bitsie Tulloch looks an awful lot like Margot Kidder.

- Superman being a dictator is a reference to Superman: Red Son, and Elseworlds story where Superman's pod lands in communist Russia and Superman fights for Stalin, Socialism and the Warsaw Pact instead of Truth, Justice and the American Way(which inspired dictator Superman in Batman v Superman and Injustice: Gods Among Us).

-The girl who saw the two Supermen fighting says "Bizarro" which is the name of a Superman enemy who is an imperfect clone of Superman(depending on continuity).

-The Flash and Kara's destiny is a possible spoiler so we will leave that out.

-Going fast enough to mess up the Earth's rotation is a Superman: The Movie reference.

-The dress that Lois wears in the Fortress at the end is similar to the one Margot Kidder wore in Superman the movie when Superman takes her flying.

Sure I missed a couple more but that's all I remember off the top of my head. Kind of surprised that they have never done a direct Chris Reeve reference yet unless I somehow missed it.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

It was all a lot of fun, but I agree with many of the gripes. Definitely not enough of 90’s Flash.
As for the Red Son stuff some of you mentioned, that pretty much is already being built up now for the back half of the Supergirl season.
Ultimately the whole crossover ended up being a prequel to next year’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, which feels a little like a cop out.
As an Arrowverse completist, I will 100% watch Batwoman but there wasn’t much here to make me look forward to it.

Post Crisis, I’d be down with some of these universes merging together and leading into one Justice League show show rather that having the characters all split btwn shows and universes. CW is bloated now with individual DC shows.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

Pretty lackluster ending. Sadly we didn't get much of Brainy and the Martian Manuhunter until the very end.

Worst part of that ending is that there should be so many show changes between now and then. Arrow being cancelled at the top of the list. But it would be cool if they went there, but still brought back Oliver and Felicity for the cross-over. or even better, just reduce the number of shows by merging a few of them.

Gary cameo! I liked evil Cisco. This was the weakest episode of the 3. Still a fun crossover. These really are the best episodes of the season for all of the shows.

OOOOOOOH CRISIS NEXT YEAR. BRING IT!

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

This capper to the crossover was easily the worst of the three episodes. It had some fun moments but a few small touches would have made the conclusion infinitely better.

I kind of figured this would lead into Crisis on Infinite Earths. The Arrowverse has all the requisite players to do a reasonable Crisis and merging all the characters onto one Earth makes sense.

I suspect Supergirl plans to add a young Jonathan Kent next year in some recurring role as Superman's son. Love the character in the comics, let's hope he doesn't get butchered in translation.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

Agree with pretty much everyone that it was the weakest of the 3 episodes, but overall a fun little arc. I'd give this Elseworlds arc a slight edge over the Dominators arc from 2 years ago.

It was kind of shitty seeing Superman once again get his ass kicked, especially by knockoff Black Superman.

Also, worth mentioning that Bitsie Tulloch is actually pregnant in real life.

It did feel like, especially with the end title card, that was whole arc was mostly set up for next year.

And I guess teasing the next arc in 2019 pretty much guarantees that all the DC shows are coming back, especially Arrow. Even though this is Stephen Amell's last year of his contract. They will have to re-sign him and all the Arrow regulars to new deals next offseason.

The only reference I remember is early on when the Luthor sister showed up is that Lex is still on prison from some land reality scheme out in California.

Re: Supergirl (S4E09) -- "Elseworlds Part 3" -- Event Conclusion -- 12/11/18

Overall on this Eslewoprlds story, I thought it was relativley weak.

Started off great.
Had a promising intro to seeing Earth-90 with that version of Flash but it went nowhere.
Did the Monitor kill him or just zap him into the cornfield?

The batwoman stuff was just okay.

The third ep was almost all fan service.
Little call backs to the movies and comics and that was about it.

Couldnt figure out what earth they were supposed to be on.

The Monitor.
What exactly was he thinking?
Give the book of power to some lamebrain professor?

Esleworlds is usually alternate versions of the characters that we are familiar with.

Didnt really get much of that.

Did the Supergirl writers pen this episode? It was noticeably much worse than the previous two. A lot of it didn't make sense to me.

Holy shit, did Superman father a child with Lois Lane out of wedlock? I mean, that is such an antithesis to the character. Do the writers even know what Superman is about?

They couldn't keep their worlds straight either. The characters knew things they couldn't possibly have known. Deegan admits that Superman and Kara don't exist on his Earth and wonders why, yet he knows about Jimmy and other characters on Earth 38 and puts them in prominent roles on Earth 1? Makes no sense.

This episode just reminded me why I dropped the show.

The story is by Marc Guggenheim, who wrote Part 2. He's Arrow's former Showrunner.

He was one of the little Easter eggs in part 2 with his name on one of the signs in Arkham Asylum.

Doesn't surprise me, he seemed to have been confused about the alternate Earth stuff on Part 2 as well.

Excellent Crossover. FUN! B+
The only thing that prevented me from giving this an 'A' was the continue under usage of John Wesley Shipp.
He is being wasted as Jay Garrick on FLASH and wasted in this crossover as Earth-90 Flash.
Although it was neat seeing him in the red suit again.

SUPERGIRL reach a season high in the ratings thanks to the crossover.

Doesn’t the future headline from season 1 of Flash say that the Crisis occurs in like 2022 or 2024? I wonder what pushed the date up to 2019? Possible because Barry became Flash earlier due to Thawne fucking with the timeline?
