A Murder at the End of the World (Hulu) - C: Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij - premieres 11/14/23

A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series with a new kind of detective at the helm – a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker named “Darby Hart” (Emma Corrin). Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.

A Murder at the End of the World stars Emma Corrin, Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson, Brit Marling, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson and Neal Huff.

A Murder at the End of the World is created, written and directed by Brit Marling & Zal Batmanglij. Marling and Batmanglij also executive produced alongside Andrea Sperling (Transparent), Melanie Marnich and Nicki Paluga. The seven-episode limited series is also written by Marnich and Rebecca Roanhorse and is produced by FX Productions.

I'll give it a try since I was a huge fan of Sound of my Voice and The OA. Plus, Clive Owen!

Pretty much took the words out of my mouth. Big fan of those two projects (still bitter about Netflix not renewing The OA), so I'll definitely be watching this.

Watched the first two eps and really enjoying it so far. The lead actress is good, and the whole thing looks great in terms of direction/cinematography/production value. Looking forward to seeing more.

Going by the trailers, it looks like this is a cross between Agatha Christie and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

I'll check this out, but I'll probably wait and binge the whole thing when it's over.

Watched the first episode. Between Owens being in it and it being a murder mystery with an interesting backdrop, I'm in for the season. I have a hard time believing Bill is a genius artist with that mullet, though.

Why does the thread title have the creators names instead of stars Clive Owens' and Emma Corrin's names? Y'know, to make the show identifiable.

Marling and Batman are the draws for me personally, so I get it.

Yeah, I thought it was funny that Darby's haircut improved compared to the flashback, but when Bill shows up at the dinner in Iceland years later he's still all in on the mullet.

I am enjoying this. I think more because of the setting than the actual plot. But they are introducing several new mysteries each episode, which is cool.

I called it early on that
Spoiler:
the kid was Bill's

This is very enjoyable, lots of plot holes, but fun..
