Liked it generally, but hated the music at the end. Not the music itself... it was just so out of place. Which, I realize, might sound like a strange complaint since "out of place" is a central theme to this show... but still. Uuugh.

It’s great to have this back and I enjoyed the episode, but the song at the end was strange. I agree, it was just so out of place for the episode and the show.

Speaking of songs, they seemed to have re-recorded the vocals for the theme song at the beginning and I don't like it as much as the original version!

They have a version of each location. So if they go back to Scotland which I think they will, they will use original version. But yes, original version is best.

Great first episode. Maybe my favorite show on TV

No, they previously mixed in music from whatever location they were in at the time. But the vocals were always the same. Now they seemed to have rerecorded the vocals.

I have a completely irrational love for this show.

I thought tonights episode was fantastic after the somewhat trite episode on slavery. Loved that they brought back some of the fantastical elements to the show. I really care for all the characters. It is so well made, and one of the best looking shows on TV.

And yes the vocals have been re-recorded this year, I checked. I like the old version better.

I thought this was the worse episode to date for the entire series. Going back to the daughter was boring and pointless. The ghost time traveler stuff was interesting but annoying not get more info. Then the skull thing was just silly. She just picks up a random skull she finds on the ground and decides to carry it around. I could understand if she saw the fillings and then decided to take Mort but she did it before that. This episode was just terrible.

Interesting. I have not read the books, but none of the stuff with the daughter is pointless in my view. Pretty obvious where they are going with that. And the skull thing was NOT inconsistent. She has demonstrated that affinity before.
