No info yet on what’s going to happen with the house.
3.5 m to buy and probably millions to rebuild.

The Neighborhood star will drop in a visit for what HGTV is calling A Very Brady Renovation: Behind the Build, airing Oct. 7 and 14. The two-episode "Build" series picks up one week after the event of tonight's finale. "Build" will also feature Jerry Houser and Ron Kuhlman, who played Marcia and Jan Brady’s husbands on The Brady Bunch 1981 scripted spinoff, The Brady Brides.

Need to watch the third episode. Too bad tonight is already the finale, although the bonus episodes should be fun too hopefully. Been a fun watch.

When you originally mentioned them, my first thought was to make a Dave "Killer" Karlson joke.

I loved this. It brought back a flood of memories watching "The Brady Bunch" as a kid. The hard work and extreme details to make this house come to life was extraordinary. It would be really special to see it in person. And "The Brady Bunch" cast were amazing. All of them. My favorite was Eve Plum. She's not only an artist who helped with paintings in the renovated house, she also had a garage full of artifacts and souvenirs from the show. This whole show was such a retro great idea. And I heard it was a ratings winner. Maybe they'll do more. What could be next?

Spoiler:
At the end of the last show, HGTV showed previews of the cast coming back for a Christmas special where the entire house is decorated for Christmas.

Re: A Very Brady Renovation - HGTV

The HGTV website shows two bonus episodes, -listed as Six and Seven, -which I assume will follow in the next two weeks. This makes me wonder about "Five", unless that's the "Christmas" episode. Checking out the site it's clear they're trying to mine as much content out of this (hit) series as they can, including 3 web series with even more extraneous content with the actors.

Re: A Very Brady Renovation - HGTV

Maybe HGTV can start buying other houses that were used for exteriors of TV shows and remodel those to match the TV versions on the inside.

What are some good ones they could do? All in the Family, Golden Girls, Married With Children, Breaking Bad, Small Wonder?

DWilson 10-02-19 01:14 PM

Re: A Very Brady Renovation - HGTV

I was wondering about that myself, -I'm sure they want something in '70s-'80s wheelhouse, feel-good and female-friendly. It would have to be a series where a large chunk of the intended demographic can conjure up a visual of the living space just by naming the series...

Happy Days

They could do the Cunningham’s house and Arnold’s.

Remind me, -did we see much of the upstairs of the house other than the first season, before it went three-camera in front of an audience.

Here are a couple of lists they could pick from:

I'd love to see the home from Family Ties.

Re: A Very Brady Renovation - HGTV

The challenge is finding a house that’s iconic enough that people will remember, buying it, and getting participation from the cast. Not sure what other houses they could really do with all those factors in mind.

Full House would be a good one, but the real life layout inside compared with the tv layout and how the house actually is would be pretty much impossible to duplicate I think.

Eps 5 & 6:

Behind the Build: Scenes We Fern-ally Get to Show You
A special look at unseen footage and memorable reveals for the front exterior, the heart of the home and Alice's bedroom and bathroom.

Behind the Build: We’re Gonna Keep On, Keep On Showing You More
The series concludes with a look at unseen moments and unforgettable reveals of the master suite, family room and Mike's den. Plus, a celebrity surprise!

Ah, now that makes sense. Thanks!

Did anyone else think that the LA film office guy giving the speech was the Cousin Oliver actor just from his looks?

Also the commercial break “reveal” for the UCLA marching band that was already shown in the opening preview, pretty anticlimactic.

Loved seeing all the work that went into this. Excited for the additional episodes. I want to see more fictional places in real life. Maybe a real Cheers (the Boston ones are not like the show layout) or Seinfeld’s apartment. Wish they did a show like this for the real life Simpsons house back in 97. Maybe HGTV can buy that too.

And for those interested, there’s a side episode online dedicated to the car restoration.

That station wagon restomod looked lame. They should have also bought back Mike's Barracuda convertible or Greg's '56 Chevy.

They can have a sequel where they actually do the garage. I guess there was no space for it in the yard. Does the house actually have a garage somewhere? Maybe they could could recreate the garage and a more faithful version of the backyard at some other location.

this was fantastic, one of the best things hgtv has done, was pleased all the brady kids came back and were so respectful of the time on the show and alice and mom and dad, just a wonderful tribute show on many levels, was way too short though, wish there was a way to have mined more eps out of this.

They could always remake their neighbors' house:
