Ray Donovan (Showtime) -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 10/28/18

As season six of RAY DONOVAN begins, we find Ray (Schreiber) rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, his savior, a cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends out in Staten Island. A SHOWTIME production, RAY DONOVAN also stars Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, Devon Bagby and Graham Rogers, with Oscar(R) winner and multiple Emmy-nominated actress Sarandon (returning as a series regular).

12 episode 6th season
Now airing in the Fall instead of Summer.
also now shot on location in New York.
I have a feeling this is going to be a very quiet thread this season being that it's airing in the Fall and on Sundays against football.
Episode 1 is already available on demand for those who want to get a head start.

Wild start with Ray being down and out. And fat
Upcoming episodes look good and it will be interesting to watch Ray fix a campaign.
It does feel odd to watch Ray in the Fall though.

Nice to see the baseball bat makes a return in the season previews. Not a real spoiler, but they always find a way for Ray to use it each season.

I wonder if they'll include the Daryl character or not since the actor could be serving time in real life.
Is anyone here watching this season? Hard to tell with no thread activity. It's actually been a pretty good season. No Abby to drag things down!

For some reason I thought season 6 was expected to be the last. With the shift to NY, looks like Schreiber's more willing to continue with the show.
I haven't watched the latest season yet. Will get to it eventually.

Can't believe they are doing another season. I thought this was supposed to be the last.

Well, they sure put a LOT of bodies into the ground this time. Overall I thought the season was weak, especially having a scumbag like Feratti coming out the winner at the end. They should really end it next season to avoid going the ways of other Showtime series.

Re: Ray Donovan (Showtime) -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 10/28/18
I thought this season had a weird feel to it - and not just because it was set in New York. It felt very depressing and gloomy, and wasn't all that great... and I've had many issues.
Didn't like how in Ray's attempt to kill himself, he was conveniently saved by a crooked cop who's got ties with Feratti and happens to be an issue for Sam.
The "fight club" stuff with Terry was a waste of time.
Bridget's never really been exposed to Ray's world and is still quite innocent, and all of a sudden her tame-ish kidnapping has hardened her enough to be totally unaffected by dead bodies in the house and allows her to be able to chainsaw the head off a body without even flinching? Not believable in the least.
Ray has used security camera footage to his advantage, but doesn't seem to care about security cameras that would probably be around catching what he's doing. The garage must have security cameras to catch Ray taking out Sam's bodyguard, no? And it will be obvious to detectives that Sam's death wasn't a suicide. Are all cops and detectives on Feratti's payroll and will be able to cover all this up?
Anyway, the show's sputtering and this really should've been the last season.
