Season 3 premiered last week.
It was alright. Not a great follow up. It was a little all over the place. I was annoyed how they turned Josie into this scared outsider while Alyssa was the evil queen B. Danielle Rose Russell was hardly in it as she was still in that coma/trance from last season's cliffhanger. So Lizzie and Alaric were really the focus. I hope they get back to what makes this show fun. It has been bogged down a little lately.

It was an okay return. Like you said, keeping the main star in a coma most of the episode was a little curious. The tug of war was a little weird.

I am bumping this thread to see if anyone is still watching? I have been enjoying the past few episodes, and continue to feel that this is one of the more fun shows to watch and I am happy that it is still on the air. I like that we still get monster of the week stories that tie in to the ongoing Malivore multi-season story arc. Unlike The Originals and even The Vampire Diaries (which I was at least 5 seasons deep into the show before I drifted away), I think I can see myself watching all the way to end, which I hope does not come about for at least another 2-3 seasons (6-7 seasons is a nice healthy run, and after 6/7 seasons I start to drift away from shows that I love).

Yes I'm still watching. But I still have some episodes left over from season 3 to finish off on Netflix before I start season 4.
One thing I discovered over the last year. Matt Davis (Alaric) is a fucking douche. He's a hardcore Trumper and was a asshole on social media during 2020. I don't think many like him including his castmates.

Whoa, sad to hear as his character is awesome. No spoilers, but when you catch up you might notice that what the writers have done with his character this season may put him on the sidelines for a bit on the show. That tracks now that I know how he may not be a beloved cast member.

Yes, I've stuck with Legacies. Probably the most competently written series on the CW outside of Stargirl. Some of the beats are retreads of earlier Vampire Diaries and Originals plots but they've done enough to keep it interesting.
The show might have been a bigger hit but the male leads are all underwhelming, especially Landon. Unfortunately, he's too integral to the show's mythology to dump by this point.
On a bigger scale, I kind of wish they had avoided including so many vampires in the cast. This universe's vampires are basically walking deus ex machinas.

I am still watching and enjoying. I too was wondering is Matt Davis's social media antics were the cause of what happened in the latest episode. Easily way to get him off the cast but still able to bring him back if the story requires it or they want closure at some point.

Still think Danielle Rose Russell lost too much weight.

MG? I've really liked what his actor has done with the character. Now Cleo they could drop in a heartbeat and I wouldn't miss her accent.

Weird cast exit. Wonder if its vaccine-related, like all the others happening right around now (filming return in 2022?)

The cast has grown very big for a show that can't be making that much money for the CW. That's why I think characters are disappearing for stretches.

The show is so much better when some of the Originals return. I don't think splitting up the cast most of the season has worked out. Rick meeting his younger self through the magic of video trickery.
