Re: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2 (April 5, 2019)

Yeah more like S1b like RichC2 said.

Unsure if I'll continue watching. S1a dragged a lot and felt like episode count could have been cut in half without any loss. In the end thinking back over it, nothing really happened for most of the show.

I really enjoyed the show. I'm definitely down for this. But the pacing does need to improve. It really reminded me of those Netflix Marvel shows......ie - you could cut down the episode order by a third and still have the exact same narrative.

In Greendale, the Holidays can be such a witch. Séances, evil Santas, spellcasting, and of course, Sabrina. Join the Spellmans, Sabrina's mortal besties, and the Church of Night for a solstice celebration in A Midwinter's Tale, premiering December 14 only on Netflix.

I enjoyed season 1 but I am not sure how I feel about it. In the end Sabrina IS basically evil. Chaotic somewhat meaning good evil, but mostly selfish chaotic evil.

Solstice episode spoiler:
Spoiler:
And the odd thing is that this doesn’t really carry over to the new episode. She acts just like regular Sabrina. I thought at first it was just chronologically before the season finale, but then the signing of the Devil’s book is mentioned in the episode. It’s either a continuity error or she’s not as changed as that finale would have us believe.

Re: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) -- premieres 10/26/18

Netflix has conjured up some excellent news for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans: The Kiernan Shipka-led drama series has been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4, TVLine has learned.

The streaming giant has ordered 16 more episodes of Sabrina, which will release in two parts (officially called Parts 3 and 4). Production on the new installments will kick off in 2019.

“Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch,” series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said. “And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”

That's somewhat normal for one-off episodes. It's weird.

Re: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) -- premieres 10/26/18

Is this show dark for anyone?
I don't mean as in the mood of the show, but as in not bright. Watching this latest episode, I was turning up brightness which I never do. This was the worst of them as previous episodes were kinda dark, but not as this one was. I just got a new tv, uhd and all that, so i was pretty annoyed that I couldn't see things very clearly.
I'm kind of torn about this series. I really like it, but damn, it's really dark(mood). It shocked me how dark it was, and how these nice people are really Satanists. I'll keep watching though.

Spoiler:
She did invite Agatha and Dorcas to do the seance. She may have been using them for her own selfish ends (to summon her mom), but this is the pair who killed her boyfriend's brother and are the source of all her romantic woes. I know the audience is meant to empathazie with Sabrina, but Harvey is completely right to distance himself from her -- and he doesn't even have the full picture.
Happy about the renewal news.

It's episodic, I'm okay with that. Buffy was like that and I enjoyed it more because of it. There would be a season story arc but there would still be individual stories mixed in.

Re: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) -- premieres 10/26/18

Just binged all of Season 1 and the Christmas haha special.

Good stuff, but the episodes were way too long. Make them 45 minutes and call it a day.

It's odd these were all rated TV-14 instead of TV-MA with the gory violence. I guess they got away with it because of zero nudity and almost no bad language.

It's a wicked world out there, and Sabrina is brewing up trouble. After signing her name in the Book of the Beast, Sabrina struggles to find the balance between her place in the mortal world and her new darker side. New challenges await Sabrina in Part 2, including having to choose between the familiar mortal Harvey Kinkle, and the sexy warlock Nicholas Scratch. She may have signed her name to the Dark Lord, but that doesn't mean she isn't willing to raise a little hell. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina continues April 5. Starring Kiernan Shipka.

Nice. Hopefully the social justice is a little less on the nose this second half.

Finished the 2nd half of season one. Thought it was great and thought they should have kept the season together.

Re: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) -- premieres 10/26/18

I just binged both parts over the last week. I liked it pretty well--though some of the episodes in the middle of part 2 seemed to drag a bit.

Love the cast. Shipka is great at portraying Sabrina as naive and innocent, but also fierce and determined when need be. The aunts are great, too. And Michelle Gomez (Wardwell/Lilith) rocks--I wonder what they'll do with her next season now that she's just Wardwell again.

I'm really surprised I haven't heard about much of a backlash over this show from conservative Christian groups, since it is aimed in part at a teen audience. Maybe there's been some noise and I just haven't heard about it. All the Satanism is played pretty straight, they don't dance around it at all. I mean, my aunt and others in her Baptist church forbade their children from reading the Harry Potter books. They'd have an aneurysm if they watched this show. Satanists AND a transgender character! Good heavens!

Season 2 was really dark, but it was a lot of fun. Could easily have ended the show, but they can go interesting places now. Quite a surprising show, really. I look forward to more.

When it comes to love, she's going Straight to Hell. Sabrina's back with a song that will be stuck in your head all day long, no spell required. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returns with Part 3. Meet you at the gates January 24.

This won’t be a purchase for me, and I don’t really recall the music standing out on the show, but Waxwork Records has damn nice looking vinyl set up for pre-order. Most of their stuff looks cool, but this one is stunning.
