Maybe next season won't take place entirely in a station wagon or a dumpy motel in Michigan in the winter.

Serena Williams just subscribed to DC Universe a few days ago and apparently loves Titans.

They should cast her as Blackfire, Starfire's sister.

Titans Casts Deaf, Transgender Actor as Jericho

Following the announcement of casting actor Esai Morales as Deathstroke, DC Universe's live-action Titans has cast Chella Man as Jericho, a hero in his own right and the son of DC's famed mercenary.

Though he's not a big name in Hollywood, Man, who self-identifies as deaf, genderqueer and a queer artist, has seen his profile grow both as a deaf activist and as a model. In 2017, the Jewish/Chinese-American actor began to transition from female to male and has quickly become a noted figure in LGBTQ+ circles, documenting his transition on Instagram, YouTube and a series of columns for them.

Jericho made his DC Comics debut in 1984's Tales of the Teen Titans #43 (after making a cameo appearance in Issue #42), by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, and has the power to possess anyone upon making eye contact with them. The character has always used sign language to communicate with his teammates, as he was rendered mute early in his life by kidnappers who were attempting to blackmail his father. Though he's played the villain from time to time over the years, Jericho has generally been one of the more pure-hearted members of the team of young heroes. While the original version of the hero's sexuality was never really explored, Jericho's modern comics incarnation is bisexual, and his personality has more edge to it than the original.

Jericho is deaf in the comics. And assumed to be gay. But he was a white Christian Aryan male, so another DC fail

Re: DC's Titans (DC Universe) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/12/18

EXCLUSIVE: A new Bruce Wayne is on his way to live-action television: Iain Glen will portray Gotham City’s most famous citizen as a recurring role on Titans when the DC Universe series returns for Season 2 next fall.

The Scottish actor is best known as the grizzled mercenary knight Jorah Mormont on Game of Thrones, and he returns in that role this Sunday night with the Season 8 premiere of the HBO series. His face is also familiar to fans of Downton Abbey and the Resident Evil franchise. His other feature film credits include The Iron Lady, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Kick Ass 2, and My Cousin Rachel.

For the gritty DC Universe series Titans, Glen will be portraying an older version of Wayne. Here”s the official character description from the producers: “After decades of fighting crime as Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne is just as driven to protect Gotham from evil as he was in his prime. Needing to reconcile his relationship with Dick Grayson, the duo hope to forge a new dynamic as Bruce tries to help his former sidekick and the Titans achieve success.”

It’s not clear if Glen will appear in Batman’s costume at any point on the show. His Bruce Wayne will be in stark contrast to recent iterations in age and look. Ben Affleck portrayed Wayne and Batman in recent feature films like Justice League and Suicide Squad. On Fox’s Gotham, which has its two-part series finale beginning April 18, David Mazouz portrays a young version of Wayne who is poised to wear his cape for the first time in the show’s swan song story arc. Mazouz is 18, while Glen is 57.

Ser Jorah eh? Can't complain, though I'm really curious to see how much of a role he plays. With this and from that blurb what seems like Batman finally showing up in Gotham, was there some regime change that lightened up the restrictions on Batman appearances or something?

Is this show family friendly, meaning could a nine year old watch it?

So far none of the DCU series have been family friendly. Star Girl may be the exception? They said it will be "PG-13"

Yeah Doom Patrol is definitely not family friendly either. The only DC Universe original that may be "friendly" to kids is the 3rd season of Young Justice since it's animated.

Star Girl doesn't even come out until next year, so that's a long ways off.

Yeah, none of the original stuff is family friendly, nor are the direct to video cartoons for the most part. However, if your kids haven't seen it, there's a wealth of shows that are age appropriate starting with (of course) Batman the Animated Series, continuing to Superman and then JL and JLU; Superman and the Legion; Batman: Brave and the Bold, etc. etc.

Even Young Justice is a bit dark for a 9 year old IMHO.

DC Universe: ‘Doctor Who’ Co-Star Lands Mercy Graves Role On ‘Titans’

EXCLUSIVE Natalie Gumede has been cast as a recurring guest star on the DC Universe original series Titans in the role of Mercy Graves, the formidable bodyguard and ruthless right hand to the megalomaniacal Lex Luthor.

The official character bio from the show’s producers: “Mercy Graves is the ruthless, cunning, right hand and bodyguard to the notorious Lex Luthor – serving her boss with unquestioned loyalty. Her connection to the Luthors runs deep, as Mercy has been a friend of the family and in Lex’s life since they were young.”

Gumede is best known for starring as Ashley in the Doctor Who Christmas Special that aired Christmas Day 2014 to an audience of 9.6 million viewers. More recently, Gumede was seen in the 10-episode ITV series Jekyll & Hyde, playing the head of the criminal underworld in 1930s London and the love interest of Hyde.
