No witches? Maybe there aren't enough true horror movies featuring witches.

I was thinking they should have done an episode "The Human Monster", just about humans being the most dangerous villain of all. This is where they could have included stuff like Hostel/Saw (thus eliminating a need for the second part of Slashers) and Get Out, as well as some classic 70s stuff that didn't fit in any of the previous entries. You could easily throw in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, and even Carrie into that category.
That said, I thought last night's Ghost episode was the most comprehensive one yet. You had golden age classics (The Haunting), the most famous ones (Poltergeist and The Sixth Sense), new stuff (Insidious), but also a nod to underrated (The Changeling) and the inclusion of foreign films (Ring, et al). That's what I was hoping for in a show like this.
And when they were discussing The Sixth Sense, there was a debate as to whether or not anyone could possibly have foreseen the twist. John Landis once said that his wife figured it out early on in the film, but that's only because she's a costume designer and recognized very early on that Bruce Willis was always wearing the same clothes throughout the movie. I thought that was interesting, and since he's a talking head on this show I'd hoped he'd share that again.

So what was the point of having Rob Zombie on the show? He barely spoke and I don't recall him adding anything of value. Too bad they didn't get someone like Guillermo del Toro. They should have just had Tarantino take Zombie's place on the panel.

I watched the finale last night about Ghosts.
Overall I enjoyed it. It was cool that they got Craig T. Nelson to talk about Poltergeist.
I did find it weird though that when they started talking about The Ring, Candace King was the primary person talking about it and talked about the synopsis and such even though she had zero to do with the movie.
A fun little documentary series.

This show was driven by which actors they could get to sit for an interview.
I'm not a fan of AMC's house style for these documentaries. A lot of ridiculous academic posturing was applied for what made these horror films famous. I don't really understand what audience AMC is going after with these documentaries.

Decent documentary series - and I felt they covered a lot of ground. Take away for me is to check out The Changeling. Of all the horror movies they covered over the last 60 years, I think that's the only one I haven't seen.

Well, it wasn't like they were covering movies that far off the beaten path, so it's highly likely that even a casual horror fan would have seen all the movies they discussed.

I didn't see a Zombieland mention during the zombies episode, which was disappointing, but I thought this was a one and done series. So I'm glad to see that it will continue. It was pretty interesting.

Season 2 began tonight with a nod to horror houses. Great topic, but they kinda stretched it with Last House on the Left. Sure, the word "house" is in the title, but the house isn't a character unto itself like in say, The Amityville Horror. Wished they had included Hell Night, for the famed Kimberly-Crest Mansion used for the exteriors, 'cuz that's one spooky looking place.

I enjoyed the episode, though it seemed to avoid some earlier films that fit the bill and I can't help wondering if it's clip-driven or some studios are excluded, or they're pushing some product available on AMC and Shudder. But the point of all of these clip shows is to get you to watch films and it certainly does that.

Thanks for the thread bump, I missed that they were doing a second season.
I agree they miss some obvious films in the categories they cover, but I’d rather have them go deeper into a few than skim over dozens.

Wow, they really hit some obscure ones (for this show at least, not for the more knowledgeable horror fan) last night with "Killer Children"
They finally got to Carrie, and had Nancy Allen, William Katt, and Piper Laurie.
Other movies were Children of the Corn, The Bad Seed, Village of the Damned, We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Brood, It's Alive, and the "deep cut" as Eli called it, Who Can Kill a Child. That's a movie even I was unaware of till a few years ago, and can't believe they included it.
The girl from Hereditary is looking even weirder as she grows up. And Katelyn Nacon, aka Enid from The Walking Dead, well let's just say I'm bummed she's no longer on my TV once a week.

I'm in for it. They went a bit further off the reservation in some of the movies they covered in Season 2, so I'm looking forward to season 3. Might be one of those shows that actually gets better the longer it's on.

I was looking for something on the regular AMC site (the "free" part) and the History of Horror slot includes some extended interviews (about 20 min. ea.) with Stephen King, Tarantino, Edgar Wright, Joe Dante and others.

I gave the Witches episode a look yesterday. Odd that they decided to keep the nudity blurred on Shudder

They even blurred out the naughty bits of the naked dancers in Wicker Man even though they were obviously wearing body stockings.

It was enough to make me want to check out Gremlins 2, because I generally hold the view that most horror sequels do indeed suck. They too often have to retcon what we saw in the first movie (The killer wasn't really dead, or that wasn't the killer after all, etc etc etc). I didn't realize Gremlins 2 directly pokes fun at those tropes. Will be watching it very soon.

I know I'm late getting around to watching the Psycho movies, but no real need to watch Psycho II now.

I did not know Psycho II was held in such high regard.
I will need to watch that again.
I don't care what Tarantino says and I still hate Gremlins 2.
