Warner Bros. must be so happy they sided with Wayans over Crawford. Talk about instant karma.
Wayans doubly fucked over the show by making this announcement only two episodes into this season. Why even watch the rest of the season when it is highly likely to be canceled?

According to tweets I am seeing, none of the cast or crew even knew this was happening until the news story.

Although the situations are hardly similar, I did get a good chuckle when I read one of the reader comments from the article calling Damon Wayans "The Vontae Davis of acting."
It was obvious that Wayans swung his dick around and got his way earlier this year when Crawford and those cast/staff/crew that sided with him were forced off the show. Then to turn around and quit on the show which had to retool and rewrite a bunch all to accommodate Wayans' actions is just beyond reprehensible.

The show was already a sinking ship. I think many people will stop watching as there are so many other shows to watch. Why invest in any of the characters further, including a brand new character?

Well yeah he really fucked over the hundreds of crew members, writers, producers etc who are probably going to be out of work come the Holidays. And they were probably blindsided by him making that announcement online.
They were working to try to get more episodes and the ratings so far seemed to justify it. Now they're screwed.
I'm sure the Lethal Weapon set is really not a pleasant place to be at today.

I would absolutely read a book about this (similar to The War for Late Night) if someone ever decided to do one.

Wife was happy Cole got the Trish talk. We're actually pleased with this direction, interested in seeing what happens when Murtaugh retires. Seriously doubt they’re going to kill him off.

Trish talking to Cole at the end was actually a really good scene. Seann William Scott has for me worked as a new addition.
Shame Keesha Sharp's TV husband is such a douchebag. She's been great.
I really don't see this continuing beyond the 13 ordered episodes. Doubt FOX wants to pay the bill for another recast that will work. Plus, part of the dynamic of the show is Roger and his family.

Updated story. Production team was blindsided by his announcement. They plan to talk to him and see if it’s a firm decision.
Also, Wayans is contractually obligated for 6 seasons.

Re: Lethal Weapon (FOX) -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 9/25/18
Man this would make for a hell of an article at some point. Granted all we mainly have is Crawford's side of the story but it figures to go down something like this.
1. Wayans goes to WB to pitch a new show idea. The head of WBTV instead pitches him Lethal Weapon. He signs on to the pilot figuring it won't go anywhere.
2. The show is picked up and Damon is pissed and makes a bunch of demands. Damon probably expects it to be cancelled after one season.
3. The show comes back for season 2. Damon still does not want to be there Things with Crawford and him keep getting worse and worse with the breaking point being the episode that Crawford directed.
4. In the offseason Damon leaks the set troubles to the press, hoping that the show will be canceled. Instead the studio backs Damon, fires Crawford and the show keeps going.
5. Damon just says screw it, and decides to just outright quit the show without telling anyone.
Fascinating stuff. Wayans just keeps looking like a dumbass though and all this just seems to back Crawford's story even more.

it's unlikely. this isn't the BBT or something. it's a moderate hit. WB doesn't want the PR hit for this. basically, Wayans digging his own grave and may never work in TV again due to this.

I mentioned in the thread for last season that I believed Crawford's version of the behind the scenes drama over Wayans and this pretty much confirms who the diva was. I agree with some of the others on here that SWS has actually turned out to be a good addition.
I've seen people elsewhere say the show needs to figure out a way to bring Crawford back. It would be an awesome FU to Wayans.

So all this because Wayans was dumb enough to take a job he didn't want. What a fucking idiot.

A way to bring back Riggs.
Martin Riggs wakes up from a year long coma. Looks at Roger Murtaugh who is standing by his bedside.
Say's "you look older."
Show continues as Lethal Weapon.
Keep SWS on the show too.

So... to add to the humor... I just started watching this show because of SWS.
I’ve never seen an ep from S1 or S2... and I could live with Wayans being replaced.
I’m in for 13 eps of SWS.
