Pretty good start. Freddie was in top form.

Nice to see Lisa Edelstein. Little bit of a House reunion with David Chase.

Awesome to see this episode was written by Highmore. Such a talented guy. He’s really nailed the Shaun character.

I am glad they wrote out Jared. He was total dead weight. The cast wa getting a little bloated with the new additions so I’m also glad they also got rid of Jessica even though they left no explanation about her leaving other than maybe breaking up with Neil.

I’m also glad Lea is back. I liked her and she and Shaun had a good dynamic. Plus Paige Spara is a regular now so she’ll be around.

Agreed on all counts but I don't even remember Jessica so she must not have been to memorable.

Jessica was the blonde hospital lawyer who was engaged to Neil, the Hispanic hot shot surgeon. They broke up because she didn’t want kids.

I'm surprised how much I am enjoying this show. It's usually not my kind of show but the acting is really good.

Ahh, yes. She won't be missed. That pairing/relationship didn't work for me anyway.

Good choices. The doctor that left was an awful character, the lawyer chick was a downer and Paige's character is one of the best on the show.

Just finished episode 2. That was heartbreaking after the janitor died.

Shaun was being way too hard on Lea.

That was a brutal Fall Finale... too many emotions to just cut out like that.

"Sleep in heavenly peace."

You're dead, you're dead, you're dead...

Holy shit, you have to wonder how Murphy even made it through medical school if one broken lightbulb is going to cripple him?

There are any number of things about Murphy that would cause one to contemplate, "How did Murphy possibly make it through medical school?" They're best kept at passing thoughts.

I'm actually curious as to whether something else is going on with Murphy because it seemed nobody else could even hear (or see) a bad light. People can hear fluorescent bulbs, so I would have expected them to be able to hear it, but not be bothered by it.

I was a (tiny) bit bummed at the downer nature of this "holiday season" episode, but it helped me to remember this is the guy who created, "House".

Be interesting if we get some flashbacks of Murphy in medical school.

That said, I know someone who's moderately-extremely autistic and he made it through college as well. After the ADA was passed people with disabilities get a lot of help. It amazes me he made it through college when he can barely interact with people.

Daniel Dae Kim, who is one of the EPs of this show, is joining the cast as a recurring guest star. He will appear in 4 episodes.

Can we fire Murphy now?

I hope that guy who had the marrow transplant sues the hospital for killing his father.

This show is fucked up on so many levels.

Re: The Good Doctor (ABC) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 9/24/18

Murphy’s medical license should be taken away. At best he should be doing medical research, not working with patients.

The hospital should just be sued out of existence.

Am I the only one watching? The show is pretty slow paced.

Sean is a pretty annoying little shit isn’t he?

My wife and I like the show, we watch every week. Still enjoy the show, but I like when they use his beautiful mind graphics to solve the weekly riddles, there seems to be less of that this year.

Re: The Good Doctor (ABC) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 9/24/18

I am still watching. I love his roommate. They made a great decision in bringing her back. I can fully believe an autistic person could be a great doctor but I struggle with Murphy. He comes across as dangerous as he is brilliant. Like the previous poster mentioned I miss the puzzle solving and ingenuity that was present in the first season. It's become more Greys Anatomy than House.

Last episode Dr. Glassman was laid up against a wall so exhausted and tired he could hardly move and this episode he was dancing around like Grandpa Joe who just got a golden ticket.. and that was even before the pot showed up.

The face surgery was cool... the rest of the show is getting bogged down...

This show is hot garbage. It's Grey's Anatomy with an autistic guy. At least get the medical stuff right- they can't even do that.

Re: The Good Doctor (ABC) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 9/24/18

The face swap was ridiculous but the mom's walk of honor was pretty powerful.

I have to agree though. Like Grey's, season 1 was a decent medical drama and then toss that all aside in season 2 for soap opera sillyness.
