Report: Marvel developing Lady Sif TV series starring Jaimie Alexander for Disney +

https://discussingfilm.wordpress.com...ney-exclusive/

Recently we have seen the announcement of multiple Marvel television shows that will be developing under the new Disney+ banner. ‘Loki’ is currently the only Disney+ Marvel Studios TV Series that has been officially confirmed by Bob Iger however other shows such as ‘Vision and The Scarlet Witch’, ‘Rocket And Groot’, ‘Falcon And The Winter Solider’ and ‘Nick Fury’ have been reported as in development with ‘Vision and The Scarlet Witch’ to be helmed by Jac Schaeffer (which we have heard may begin production next year alongside the ‘Loki’ series) and Malcolm Spellman developing the ‘Falcon And The Winter Solider’ Series.

However, it seems Marvel Studios is not done just yet with having limited series’ in store for the Disney+ Streaming Service with a ‘Lady Sif’ TV Series set to be in early development. Kevin Feige will produce the show with Jaimie Alexander expected to reprise her role. It is currently unclear whether the show will take place before or after ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.

In regards to the shows’ budget, all of the Disney+ Marvel Studios shows will recieve a $100M budget for their 6-8 episode limited series’, this is a similar amount for Jon Favreau’s ‘The Mandalorian’ which will also debut in fall 2019 on Disney+.

Let us know your thoughts on this potential limited series and the content coming to Disney+ as a whole.

Marvel Studios & Disney had no comment.

If I am NBC, I stick it to Marvel and just keep renewing Blindspot.

Marvel's 'Loki' Series Lands 'Rick and Morty' Writer (Exclusive)

Michael Waldron was up all night to get 'Loki.'

Marvel’s god of mischief has a showrunner.

Loki, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service Disney+, has landed Michael Waldon as its point person. Waldron will write the pilot, act as show creator and exec produce the series.

Tom Hiddleston is expected to star in the series, reprising the fan favorite character he first played in 2011’s Thor.

The character apparently met his demise in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, even before the census altering dematerialization of half the universe, but Marvel may have found a run around that little impediment.

Sources say the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.

Marvel had no comment.

Marvel is working on several series that will debut on Disney+. Other known series are The Vision and Scarlet Witch, being run by Captain Marvel writer Jac Schaeffer, while another will focus on a a team-up of Falcon and Winter Soldier, the heroes played by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, respectively. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been hired to write the latter effort.

Waldron hails from Atlanta and began his screenwriting career under Dan Harmon and Dino Stamatopoulos at Starburns Industries. In 2017 he served as creator and showrunner for writers' room on Heels, Starz’ pilot that centered on two rival brothers. Currently he is developing Florida Man with Steven Soderbergh for Paramount TV and is writing-producing on the upcoming season of Cartoon Network’s acclaimed Rick & Morty.

Waldron also wrote The Worst Guy of All Time (And the Girl Who Came to Kill Him), a sci-fi rom-com feature spec script that landed him high atop of the 2018 Black List. The project is now has Greg Silverman producing for QuiBi.

He is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment and Bloom Hergott.

Hawkeye Series Starring Jeremy Renner in the Works at Disney+

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is the latest member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to line up his own Disney+ series.

Variety has learned from sources that Disney’s upcoming streaming service is officially developing a limited series based on the archery ace Marvel character with Renner attached to star. The project is said to be an adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Barton. She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.

Disney and Marvel declined to comment. Reps for Renner declined to comment.

Renner has been a part of the MCU since he first appeared as Hawkeye in an uncredited cameo in “Thor.” He has since played the role in “Avengers,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and “Captain America: Civil War.” He will next appear in “Avengers: Endgame,” which hits theaters on April 26. Renner is also known for his Oscar-nominated role in “The Hurt Locker” as well as films such as “American Hustle,” “Arrival,” “The Town,” and “Wind River.”

He is repped by CAA and Felker Toczek.

As Variety previously reported, there are also Disney+ limited series in the works that will focus on MCU characters like Falcon and Winter Soldier, as well as Loki, Vision, and Scarlet Witch. The series are expected to be six to eight episodes. The series on the Disney+ will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, who has headed up the MCU for years. The shows are also expected to have large budgets compared to other television projects.

Netflix previously had its own Marvel TV universe, consisting of the shows “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” (which all fed into “The Defenders” miniseries) and “The Punisher.” However, with the imminent launch of Disney+, all of those shows have been canceled within the past few months.

It will be interesting to see if his family makes an appearance or else it would be a waste of Linda Cardellini. It's too bad she's not Mockingbird.

Yeah, Marvel Studios didn't give a shit about AoS or any of the other TV Products prior to Disney+. Marvel Studios is producing all of these.

At least this one features an actual superhero instead of a cast of sidekicks.

I would think they'd at least loosely follow the Matt Fraction serires with Clint and Kate, but I have no idea how that works unless Linda Cardellini and the kids are either permanently snapped away or they break up.

Re: Hawkeye Series Starring Jeremy Renner in the Works at Disney+

Yeah this is a totally different ball game to AOS. AOS was always fringe MCU and for any actor or character from the MCU to appear on AOS would be looked at as a dramatic demotion

These new disney plus shows look like a proper extension of the MCU.
