The Wanda Maximoff and Vision series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany has been confirmed to be titled WandaVision, according to Feige. The Marvel chief showed concept art of the series at the Investor Day presentation which was hidden from the streaming audience, but which he described as “something unexpected and surprising as well as something we can only do in a longform series.”

That's an awful name. Hopefully it's just a placeholder.

It is not a placeholder. They announced it as the name.

https://variety.com/2019/digital/new...ng-1203188116/

Variety says that Wandavision and Loki will be available within the 2nd year after launch. Sounds like late 2020/early 2021 launch.

Hawkeye was just announced and is still in development, so that's probably around the same time frame.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier says within the 1st year after launch, so that's probably a 2020 launch.

So we're still a long ways away from these Marvel shows coming to the service.

Apparently 4k/HDR is included for the same price, which is nice.

I'm hoping they offer surround sound also.

WandaVision may be the worst-named series of all time. That sounds like a parody name more than a legitimate name...

Video spoilered:
Spoiler:

“Avengers: Endgame” star Elizabeth Olsen tells Variety that “WandaVision,” the forthcoming Disney+ series about her superhero character, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, will be set in the 1950s.

“There’s quite a few other comic books that we’re pulling from and it’s going to be Wanda and the Vision, and I think at the Disney+ launch chat, they showed a photo of us in the ’50s,” Olsen says.

“Paul [Bettany] and I are really excited. They have a great group of writers. I think it’s going to be a total of six hours,” she continues. Olsen also says shooting would begin in the fall.

I hope she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. We really don’t need a bunch of time travel in the MCU.

Maybe they weren't actually in the 50's but it was like some kind of getaway for the two of them that Wanda created with her magic, hence the title.

And that's hard to do...especially in a year in which we had "Whiskey Cavalier"

re: Future Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ projects Discussion Thread - news, rumors, etc.

I know there are rumors of a Nebula/Gamora prequel and a Rocket/Groot prequel, but with Guardians 3 a few years away I was thinking of something else after I saw Endgame again today.

Endgame spoilers
Spoiler:
Timeline wise, we have five years to play with. Nebula and Rocket were out there together doing stuff, and it's just such an odd pairing. There surely had to be some fun adventures that could be told. And it doesn't require that much on camera talent. Just Gillan and Sean Gunn of the known characters. And being a premium series would probably be enough for Cooper to do the voice over work. Certainly James Gunn is a busy guy, and he presumably would want some kind of creative input in the show, but I think it's a fun idea. I googled it, but it doesn't look there are rumors about it.

re: Future Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ projects Discussion Thread - news, rumors, etc.

EXCLUSIVE: Kari Skogland has been set to direct the 6 part Disney+ mini-series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Avengers: Endgame‘s Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan starring. Sources said Captain America: Civil War‘s Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are also in talks to join. The miniseries will air August, 2020. I’d heard that Mackie’s accepting the shield from Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame will figure into the miniseries, but the studio had no comment on where it goes.

Bruhl played Zemo in Captain America: Civil War, the mastermind who drove a wedge between Captain America and Iron Man that factored into the Avengers films, and the murderer of Black Panther’s father. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been writing.

Skogland is the Emmy-nominated, BAFTA award-winning director, showrunner and CEO of Mad Rabbit, a Red Arrow Studios company, which launched in 2016. She has directed episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale, the pilot block of AMC’s NOS4A2 starring Zachary Quinto and the pilot block of Starz’s The Rook. She also serves as a pilot block director and executive producer of Showtime’s upcoming limited series The Loudest Voice airing in June and starring Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes and Naomi Watt as Gretchen Carlson.

Skogland also was exec producer and director of History Channel’s Sons of Liberty, a 6-part event miniseries for which she won the Directors Guild of Canada (DCG) award for best director of a television miniseries. Her other credits include the premiere season of Condor (Audience), The Borgias and Penny Dreadful (Showtime), Boardwalk Empire (HBO), The Killing, The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead (AMC), Under the Dome (CBS), Vikings (History), Power (Starz), The Americans (FX), House of Cards and The Punisher (Netflix). Skogland also directed and produced the indie film Fifty Dead Men Walking, starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess, which premiered at a gala at Toronto International Film Festival. Skogland wrote, directed and produced The Stone Angel starring Ellen Burstyn and Ellen Page.

https://www.thewrap.com/john-wick-de...oldier-marvel/

“John Wick” creator Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team on the “Falcon & Winter Soldier” limited series for Marvel Studios, an individual with knowledge of the project exclusively tells TheWrap.

The series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their big-screen roles as Sam Wilson aka Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, respectively. The upcoming series will likely focus on Sam Wilson aka Falcon taking on the mantle of Captain America; at the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” an elder Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) hands Wilson his shield. Kari Skogland will direct the six-part miniseries, which is eyeing an August 2020 debut. Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl are in talks reprise their roles as Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo, receptively, on “Falcon & Winter Soldier.”
