That's good. I haven't watched it yet but I've heard the mixed reviews with the choices made and the acting of especially the kids, but hopefully they can grow from that.

I've watched through episode 4 now, and I liked eps 3 and 4 better than I did 1 and 2. The Jet storyline was fairly well done and the whole Omashu story was pretty good. It's portraying things very closely to how they were shown in the animated series, which is good if--like me--you're a fan. I'm not sure how all this plays to someone who hasn't watched the original. Bumi is even more ridiculous in live action than in animation, but I found him fun. The badgermole was cool. I was delighted to see Danny Pudi as the mechanist. The Zuko and Iroh relationship is well done--again sticking closely to the original series. The storytelling is compressed, of course, compared to the original, but the important beats are still there.

Great news on the renewal, and I am on episode 3 so it is especially great to hear that eps 3 and 4 are even better than the first two. I never did watch the anime of this show, nor read any adaptations, and yet I find myself being drawn into the show and very interested in watching future episodes. I feel like the actor who plays the last airbender is well cast, and the woman who is cast as the water bender seems like good casting to me. I am also getting a kick out of recognizing most of the cast on this show from other films/shows they have been in.

I just finished the season. I think it gets stronger as the season goes on, and the final episodes (7 & 8) with the Northern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation attack are really fantastic. Looking forward to season 2!
