The premiere was meh. But, I'll probably watch. Joan Collins was great in comedy relief role.

It started out strong, but then we got 40 minutes of everything that was wrong with the prior two seasons. Unbearable characters that are part of a ridiculous and poorly executed stroryline. But at least they introduced Langdon the evil spawn at the end so we can get on with the promised links to the first season. If I didn't know that was coming I would i bail based on that terrible first episode.

I wonder if Langdon ages fast or if this is set a bit in the future.
Anway I enjoyed it, and look forward to seeing how it goes forward. Fingers crossed that when the season is over it’ll end up being a strong one. Frankly Asylum was the last season I really loved. It can’t be any worse than Roanoke, hopefully.

The opening was exceptional. Shit like that, when done as well as that was, is more scary than anything the horror genre typically puts out.

The first 10 minutes showed so much promise, then it got to the same old same old rubbish
characters weird for the sake of being weird. Relentless cult overtones
Will give it 2 more episodes

Second episode was pretty good. Joan Collins was awesome. I noticed two references to prior seasons: the latex man and Stevie Nicks song on the jukebox.

Those opening scenes were pretty intense. Felt real. Pretty sure some douchebag politicians will eventually cause that shit.

One problem with FX shows is that they don’t stream without a cable subscription. They’re one of the last hold outs. I just felt like it and bought Amazon season passes on this and Always Sunny yesterday.

They know their shows are as good as HBO. Maybe better. Legion and Fargo are on there too. Louie if he ever returns. They are getting people to pay up.
I loved Hotel but fwd’d through Cult.
Really liked episode one.
I still prefer to pay to watch a show than expand my cable package. I almost upgraded just to watch Always Sunny. But I knew I’d never watch anything else. And I’d be on a plan that costs an extra 30 dollars a month.

I've only seen Freakshow and Roanoke (although I want to try Asylum and Coven) but yeah, after two episodes, I'm not enthralled. Obnoxious people being obnoxious. Great intro, the pre-apocalypse was awesome and terrifying, but everything else so far is major meh.
I think one more episode then unless someone majorly cool happens, I'm done.
And I'm going to assume/hope there's some reason for the crazy hairstyles (my guess was that there's not a lot to do in "Victorian" underground post-apocalypse, so fooling with hair and clothes takes up a lot of time.)
I'm actually not a huge fan of FX anymore. I haven't liked the last 2 seasons of Archer; my wife does like the Americans; we don't watch SoA or its spinoff. I like being able to get the Simpsons at almost any time on FXX.

I agree that the characters are typically narcissists. Is this reflective of the show’s creators? Are they afraid to put sympathetic characters through misery?
Hotel’s final episode, where they decide to live together and communally kill the one character was really moving. But those kind of moments aren’t common on the show.
The elite Victorian living is interesting for the art department. But I’d expect a real life scenario to be more utilitarian and suburban styled. I’ll be impressed if they address why they wasted so many resources on looking like that and couldn’t install some underground rice silos. What a bunch of morons.
Was Bates’ character revealed to be a Weyland Yutani droid there at the end?

They're freely dropping F-bombs this season. Anyone want to place a bet if they'll be the first basic cable show to show a full human breast? (other than some outliers where a basic cable channel showed a movie with a brief nude scene intact)

I'm so glad we wasted 3 episodes on those characters just to kill all of them off.
Hopefully, it improves from here...

Versailles on Ovation has lots of nudity and sex. It didn't appear to be edited at all (possibly for time, but not for content).

I'm holding out hope that it can only get better from here. Curious on who they are going to say those three are given the Coven trio supposedly recognizes them... by their souls?

I just can't get into this season. It's tedious and kind of annoying so far, and beyond that, profoundly silly.
Hope it gets better.
