I don't mind that the show moves at a snail's pace, I enjoy it all - I'm just worried that they'll get to a final season soon, and have to cram a ton of story/events into too few episodes, making the ending feel way too rushed, diametrically opposed to all the other seasons. Because if they end when Jimmy becomes Saul, everyone will be disappointed.

I think things will start happening pretty quickly now.

That was some make-up job on Chuck and Jimmy in the opening scene. They almost looked like characters from Sasha Baron Cohen's new show.

It's probably a stupid question, but why not just set up the super lab in the warehouse where the builders are living? I'm guessing they can keep the warehouse secure for a small amount of time (<1year) but need a more secure location in the long term.

And Seehorn looks so good for her age, they needed minimal makeup on her.

Yea, that's the downside of this show shooting scenes from the past - the characters look much older than they're portraying.

The opening scene took place in early '93 since the Oscar pool was for 1992 films. Jimmy is 40 in 2003, so this makes him 30 in this opening - when in reality he's 55. Shaving off 25 years without CGI is tough to do. Michael McKean is 70 and they had to make him look like he was in his later 40s - tougher to do with an older person. Kim looks great, but she looks older than she's portraying in the opening.

Setting it up in the warehouse is way too insecure still - much easier to be found out by the DEA and the other cartels. The meth lab will be a huge money-generating operation, so it pays to invest time/money to set it up underground. Less worry and distractions. Plus it's harder to explain the exhaust coming from a warehouse. It's easier to funnel the exhaust from the underground lab and mix it in with the exhaust from the industrial laundry.

I wish they would have done something with Kim’s hair in the 1992 flashback, like given her big Kelly Bundy hair or something. (She is from Nebraska, after all.)

I'm about to call BS on this show. I understand it started off at a slow pace, but get on with it! Did we really need a five minute soliloquy from Gus?

Yeah, I totally zoned out on Gus' monologue.

Because of the fumes from the creation of meth. Within the cleaning factory they could buy chemicals and emit vapors without arousing suspicion.

I don't mind the pace but it almost seems like there has to be a time jump unless they already know that they have more than 1 season left.

Got to love the little nods within the show.

I get what they were trying to do, but for this show and it's writers it just wasn't a very good or interesting story he was telling.

I think the worm finally has turned the last two eps, we've got Saul now...

Kim has been awesome this season, and well pretty much every season...

I thought I remembered an interview early on where Vince said he thought the show could go for 7 years, so who knows. It's not unfathomable to think that he jumps into his Saul personality next year in full when he gets not disbarred anymore. For all we know, he'd only been practicing a few months when Walter met him.

Vince Gilligan:
“[We take things] very much season by season. And I’m less involved than I used to be. Peter Gould, my partner, who co-created the show is running the writers room, and they’re doing it the same way we did it on Breaking Bad, which is very much season by season. We really don’t know where it’s all going. We have ideas, and touchstones we want to get to, but never really sure where it’s going to wind up. And that is to the good, because otherwise, if we knew 5, 6, 7 years ahead of time where we want it to land, it would get stale. So it’s better this way.”

I kind of liked it. It was eerie, and showed his motivation for not just killing, but making things suffer for crossing him.

It makes that moment when Hector just starts ringing that bell more impactful as his way of escape and revenge for the torture he went through when he blows up Gus and himself.

Exactly...

That was showing us exactly who Gus is. He's not going to stop. When he's slighted he will get his revenge on his own terms. There is no rage or flying off the cuff, it's meticulous and it doesn't until he's ready to end it. I thought it was a very important monologue.

I did like the close up of Hector's hand as Gus was leaving, showing what will ultimately bring down Gus.

I just binged the last 3 eps. This show just gets better and better. Each and every ep I had a smile on my face and the end of this just left me giddy. Just amazing tv. And please give Jonathan Banks an Emmy already. And since when can they say fuck on amc. Breaking Bad or Mad Men didn’t do it. What changed with FCC to allow now?

The FCC has no oversight over cable
