The brand new series YOU , premieres September 9th at 10pm ET/PT on Lifetime. When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way. The series stars Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell, with a special guest appearance by John Stamos.

I thought this was completely engaging from the start. I will definitely continue the journey.

Also, props for Lifetime to continue the trend of not editing content or language.

I watched the Pilot for this last night (recorded a re-air)

Really knew nothing about it, but was pleasantly surprised. Very dark and unique taking this show from the perspective of a stalker. Badgely is kind of creepy, yet interesting.

I  at the scene where he was jerking off watching Becks from outside and that old lady almost caught him.

Interesting that he's now holding Beck's boyfriend hostage. But, I was a little confused because I thought Benji saw Joe when they arrived in the cab a few scenes back. And then Joe was pretending to be some magazine guy.

Lifetime dropped this and it is moving to Netflix.

I watched the whole thing. It was pretty entertaining, but they should've run it as a summer show.

Joe Goldberg apparently will find his next obsession at Netflix: The Lifetime drama YOU will move to the streaming service for its second season.

Though Lifetime initially had renewed the Penn Badgley-led series for a second season, before Season 1 had even premiered, the cable network has opted not to air the sophomore run, citing low ratings as a major factor in the decison.

“Lifetime had an incredible experience working with Greg Bertlanti, Sera Gamble and the entire team on YOU for Season 1,” the network said in a statement. “We wish the cast and crew the best as the series continues on at Netflix and can’t wait for the opportunity to work with the creative team again.”

Based on Caroline Kepnes’ novel of the same name, YOU stars Badgley as Joe Goldberg, a bookstore employee who instantly falls for, then obsessively stalks, a customer-turned-love interest named Beck (Elizabeth Lail). In the Season 1 finale — Spoiler Alert! — Beck ultimately died at Joe’s hand, and Joe’s ex-girlfriend Candace showed up in a cliffhanger ending.

Season 2, which will loosely follow the events of Kepnes’ follow-up Hidden Bodies, will move the action to Los Angeles.

“There’s a lot of great story in the second book that we’re going to be able to do, but in our way,” executive producer Sera Gamble told TVLine in November. “Los Angeles is a completely different vibe… We started the writers’ room for Season 2 by being like, ‘Joe moves to L.A. and he completely hates it. Let’s talk about how much fun that is.'”

This is not the first time a Lifetime series has jumped to a different platform during its run: The fourth and final season of UnREAL was dropped on Hulu, instead of its original network, earlier this year.

"You" Netflix/ Lifetime series

Anyone watch this series yet? Being a guy I usually don't care for Lifetimes movies/shows but this one is played from the male perspective. It was originally produced by Lifetime, but since then it has become a Netflix series as they'll produce the second season and it fits inore with their servoce than it does with Lifetime programming.

Netflix announced that Season 2 premieres 12/26. I wonder if anyone else here checked this out when it made the move to Netflix?

I still need to finish the first season. I stalled on watching it around episode 6. I think I watched 2 or 3 on Lifetime and then picked it up again when it hit Netflix, but stalled on it. I mean I like, but just stalled on it when shows started piling up.

Watched the first episode of Season 2 and thought it was great. I loved Victoria Pedretti on The Haunting of Hill House, so it was really nice to see her here.

Finished with season 2. In a lot of ways as good as the first season but I still think the first season was better. The show gets really crazy in the last couple of episodes. Looking forward to season 3.

Haven't watched S2 yet, but so far S1 is giving me too much of a Dexter vibe.

Just discovered this series and liking it well enough so far but has anyone else noticed the very odd camera/photography work? Lots of distortion, extremely blurred backgrounds, and some shots have that definite "toy train set" effect.

Berlanti's other shows have a similar look, namely Sabrina and Riverdale.

Just finished S1, really liked it. Pacing wise, they really made use of the 45 minutes they had for each episode.
There were times I was so engrossed only to find out only 20 minutes had passed.

Not sure how much more fucked up a 3rd season will be... but I'm game.

I just don't understand how Joe keeps getting these super hot (relatively speaking) girls. Elizabeth Lail? Victoria Pedretti? Looks like I need to start readin' and killin'.

I just watched both seasons in the last week. Really enjoyed it.

I certainly noticed the camera work. I found the blurring really distracting, and don't feel it added anything.

The ending (i.e. the last scene in the backyard) was really well done, and makes me anxious to see S3.

Just finished season one (Warner just released the DVD). Really liked it. Both Badgley and Lail were both great.

My girlfriend and I were looking for something to watch last night and she came across this on Netflix so we watched the first couple episodes. Very weird show. I get very much a vibe of Dexter but with some differences.

The one thing I question is how long the show can go with the plot. I see it’s already had two seasons of ten episodes each and a third coming up. Seems like it might start to wear thin after a while, and I would think that Beck would have to notice Joe’s behavior at a certain point.
