I'm a huge fan, so if they do this right, this could be good.

Author Michael Connelly, "Treme" producer Eric Overmyer are teaming up to develop and co-write a TV series based on Connelly’s best-selling detective novels featuring the character of Harry Bosch says The Hollywood Reporter.
Fuse Entertainment, the company behind "Burn Notice" and "The Killing", are backing the procedural about the driven, jazz-loving detective notorious for his anti-authoritarian attitude and active love life. Connelly has penned seventeen books featuring the character.
Bosch is also the half-brother of L.A. defense attorney Mickey Haller, the character played by Matthew McConaughey in "The Lincoln Lawyer". Connelly is also adapting 'Lincoln' into a drama series for ABC.

I'd prefer a cable network, so it can be a little edgier. So thoughts about casting for Harry?

Cranston isn't done with breaking bad yet. They've only filmed the first 8 episodes. They are on hiatus and will come back later to film the last 8. he actually was in the Lincoln Lawyer movie, but not as Bosch. I'm still trying to figure out who would be a good actor to play him. I'm thinking it has to be someone in his 40's or early 50's.

Nice fucking spoiler with the Bosch/Haller brotherhood
This would only work if it were set in the 90's with Bosch constantly having to ask people to use their phones.

I love Bosch, but I am shocked by this. I know in the past Connelly was hesitant to bring Bosch to movies, so I am surprised that he will be bringing him to TV.
FWIW, when he discussed who he saw as playing Bosch, in the past he mentioned that he thought that Hugh Laurie would be what Bosch looked like, but the last time that he was asked (the last I read anyway), he said that he thought that it should be Billy Burke.

^^ The problem with Billy Burke is that he's the lead of the new series Revolution, which airs this Fall.

since it appears Connelly is helping, I'd imagine he's probably get some input on who is cast as Bosch.

I've been to a few Connelly readings. This question is asked frequently and the popular choice seems to be Mark Ruffalo -- I think the author even mentioned he liked the idea.

Ruffalo seems like a good choice, but is probably too famous for the role.

In an interview with EW around the time the Lincoln Lawyer movie came out, Connelly put his support behind Billy Burke as Bosch. Unfortunately, Revolution actually stuck so that seems unlikely. Too bad, b/c I think he would have been a fine choice.

Arrow starts off a bit rough the first 6-10 episodes but then really picks up. Will most likely be a first day buy on Blu if the price is decent.
