Re: Your Most Anticipated New Shows 18/19 season ?

On the big 5, it's really just Manifest, off the top of my head. Although I'm already dreading it'll go the way of The Event, Flash Forward, The Crossing, Surface, Threshold, Invasion. But we'll see.

New stuff cable-wise, I'll check out The Purge and Mayans M.C. and Kidding. I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting. Deutschland 86, if that counts.

Everything else is just returning stuff (DC shows, The Deuce, Shameless, Sunny, various comedies, Vikings, etc).

Curious about already released Jack Ryan, Kidding with Jim Carrey, a comedy with guy from SNL, I think, couple others...

Re: Your Most Anticipated New Shows 18/19 season ?

This year there isn't a lot of big high profile new series.

As of right now, I'll say the following are ones I plan to watch when they premiere:

Jack Ryan (very soon)

Mayans MC

The Purge

Titans (already subscribed to DC Universe)

Magnum P.I. It's going to be extremely cheesy

Manifest It's one of those high concept serial shows and we know they have a extremely high fail rate.

All American Looking for a good high school drama and this seems like it has potential. Riverdale kind of went off the rails in season 2.

The rest is wait and see. We'll see what the reviews, buzz is like. I know procedurals don't really get watched here. So no matter how good the reviews are, they won't bring any discussion.

Re: Your Most Anticipated New Shows 18/19 season ?

Hmm not much new this year for me...

Castle Rock
Legacies
Mayans MC
The Purge
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

I'd like a new Sitcom but everyone they come out with never works for me. With TBBT ending, I've officially got none.

Forgot to mention, Nathan Fillion's new show "The Rookie"

It's a police procedural and I'm sure most here won't watch, but Fillion's always been a very likable guy and I was a big fan of Castle.

The Manifest looks interesting in a Twilight Zone kind of way
Jack Ryan - my son caught some on Amazon prime and it looks good
The Rookie

Very low number of new shows this year.

The Rookie
Dr. Keen, MD... er, um... New Amsterdam 😉

That’s about it.

Yeah, I loved the movie but the show was not for me. The characters had none of the charm of the ones in the movie, they were just dumb. And the whole thing was very light on clever jokes - it was just all super obvious and unoriginal.
Some people seemed to like it though, so give it a shot

Personally I look most forward to "Maniac" on Netflix.
I'll also check out "Manifest" but with low expectations. Exactly once in the last 15 years has a show like that been worth the hype: Lost.

I hate to say it but every time I see that ad for "New Amsterdam" I want to punch it in the face.

Mayans.

I don't think I'm picking up anything new from the broadcast networks. Nothing jumps out at me and I've got a bunch of streaming shows to catch up on.

FBI

I miss a good case of the week show like this which doesn't involve cases like SVU or Criminal Minds. SWAT is good but a bit too cheesy.

So no one so far has listed a sitcom or any comedy for that matter

Jack Ryan
Ozark
Manifest -- and I know this will fail miserably; but it looks so much like Lost that I won't be able to help myself.

Yea, Manifest looks interesting, but I've generally tried to wean off from Network shows. Especially these high concept ones that get canceled. Maybe I'll watch the pilot or just wait until the whole season is streaming and find out its fate.

Does The Connors count? I'm actually looking forward to Rosanne without Rosanne.

I honestly haven't picked up a new sitcom in years I believe. The only one I've had on my roster for the last several years has been TBBT but that hasn't been funny in a couple seasons or so. Would like to pick up a new one, but none of them ever seem to be my cup of tea and seem to mostly rehash the "dumb people do dumb things routine".
