Michelle Maclaren? Hell yes. Directed some of the best BB episodes and directed S1E2, Nacho. Don't think she has done one since, but I could be wrong.

Funny, the way that reads to me is "some of the best" have in the period when she directed, but she hasn't directed since the second episode ever, and didn't direct one since, so just the first two episodes are "the best." I know that isn't what you mean, I just had to read it again to pick it up!

Yeah it was early. Some of the best BB episodes and Better Call Saul's second episode. That is what I meant.
And I was right, this is her second time doing a Saul episode. She has also worked on four episodes of Game of Thrones (including both of the great Jamie and Brienne episodes "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" and "Oathkeeper" and one episode of Westworld. She's super-talented and I was pretty upset she walked away from Wonder Woman though the movie turned out pretty great anyway.

Some great work from Seehorn in this one. I’m convinced she’s being written off this year though.
Oh and look at that... they let Mike explain what he was doing...

I don't see Chuck not having a will.
I also see Chuck leaving his brother out of the will. He'd either leave his estate to his ex-wife, or to some kind of charity or scholarship. A Charles McGill law school scholarship would be a subtle way of thumbing his nose at Jimmy one last time.

Kim is amazing - super sweet, but bad-ass when she needs to be.
Her inevitable exit from Jimmy's life (and the show) is going to be heartbreaking.
So if Nacho never stopped by the bridge to toss the pills, and just waited to flush them when he got home, none of that with Gus would've happened? I can't forgive such idiocy.

I really liked this episode. The acting was really great, especially from Kim and Nacho. Liked the Mike and Lydia scene as well. And what an awful death for Arturo. Wow, packed episode.
And the only two shows I’m watching right now are this and Castle Rock — it’s weird to see Ann Cusack in both and in such different roles.

Great scene with Saul and the copy machine sales position as well. Everyone shined last night. Great opening and closing scenes with Gus. I'll likely go back and rewatch this one.

Pretty much. I still don't like how they handled Nacho disposing the pills and how it was seen. I expect lazy writing from other shows, but not BCS.

Why didn't Nacho flush the placebo pills down the toilet? He could have but what would he have done with the empty bottle? Remember he didn't think anyone suspected anything.
He didn't expect to be tracked, he just didn't want to get found out. I'm fine with the way it was portrayed.

How it was seen was because Gus' people used another gas cap tracker. A cool call-back to Breaking Bad.

I'm watching season 3 and this show drags... It's spending way too much time on the Jimmy - Chuck feud. I'm like, ok can we get back to the Mike stuff please, which is far more interesting. If it wasn't for Kim, I'd probably just fast forward to the Mike parts.

Please, Season 3 moves at a breakneck pace compared to Season 2. They spent that entire year doing nothing to move Jimmy from "I quit and I'm never being an honest lawyer again", through a failed job in Santa Fe, then back to "I'm not going to be an honest lawyer" at the end of the season. Total wasted year as far as storyline went.

brilliant. this is just a brilliant show and the nods to BB and knowing the outcomes, i think, makes it more powerful...

Anyway, I don't want to completely derail this thread with S3 stuff.

So what was everyone's take on Jimmy's job interview? Like that was the purpose of going back to get the job only to refuse it?

It's a great monologue, and the scene keeps you guessing on what Jimmy's motivations are through the sales pitch and then when he rejects the job. What were the conversations like in terms of what's going through Jimmy's head in that scene?
Jimmy, he comes across when he first comes in as very enthusiastic and like he really wants to this job, but I think in reality Jimmy's feeling really horrible about himself. He blames himself for Chuck's death, and I think he hates himself in that moment. When these guys accept him and are like, "OK, you've got the job," he's very self-destructive. He can't take the positiveness of that. The fact that these guys say, "We want you," he doesn't feel deserving of it, so he reacts the way he does. So there's a lot of emotion underneath. Jimmy goes out that morning all positive — "I'm gonna get a job! This is great!" — and when it goes well, he feels so bad about himself. I really think, in this episode, I feel like we're starting to see him become Saul. When he makes that phone call to Mike, that was a very Saul thing to do. It's interesting to me to see where that evolution came from.

later in the episode we see him looking up the value online of the Hummel figure he saw in the office and his subsequent phone call to Mike about a job
in the previews for next week's episode we hear Jimmy tell Mike it's $4000 each (total value of the Hummel was just over $8,000) which obviously is chump change to Mike at this point
