STRIPE is going to be "in the garage undergoing repairs" for all of season 2...

I guess after the last Avengers movie Steve Rogers is too old to wear his old costume anymore so he may as well let someone else borrow it.

All the scenes cut from the CW version of episode 1 (plus some profanity):

That was great. I read a lot of Starman during the early 90s so I certainly got a lot of enjoyment from this.

Stargirl is off to a very good start. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Courtney and Pat were well cast.

Did this change, because Garrick was definitely in the photo (though his face was blurred, possibly so they can cast him later) and his helmet was shown.

Also, I looked at the casting and was like "that was Lou Ferrigno as Hourman?" But it was his son.

The pilot was great. Just pure. Great production values .

Possibly. Most of the Green Lantern rights are tied right now to the forthcoming HBO series. Though the heavy rumor is that Stargirl will crossover with Flash in season two, and they'll get that Flash actor to play Jay Garrick in the crossover.

If people are wondering where is Jack Knight from the comic books, his creator James Robinson didn't want him used on the series and Johns is respecting his wishes.

Interesting. I wonder if they'll even do Ted Knight, maybe for a mentor down the line or something.

That's too bad because it cuts out a big part of the Starman mythos.

Not bad. You can definitely tell the production values are high. Only down side is it felt rushed. Obviously since I watched via CW there were parts cut.

I have to imagine some elements from school, particularly the principal in trouble segment felt cut.

Starman casting seemed weird.

Remind me, Stargirl did pop up during Crisis, but her Earth number didn’t corresponding nd to any of other known characters I. The Arrowverse - yes? If so, seems like they have a lot of latitude on who to cast in other iconic roles.

I did feel like that scene between Starman and Stripesy where he insists he finds a successor... but not him, someone better... seemed a little out of place though it was hilarious. They explain later that the Cosmic Staff doesn't respond to just anyone anyway.

The photo of the JSA that Stargirl found in the chest. Please tell me that didn't get cut.

It's the photo in this article:

Oh okay I thought you meant a publicity photo.

I haven’t watched the show yet my dvr was set to record it but skipped it for some reason. I think it airs again this weekend.

Is the ep cut on the app too?

It's the same as the TV broadcast. It's 42 minutes and has about 10 minutes of commercials.

CW probably thought “rod” sounded too sexual.

I thought this iteration (based on Jack Knights art deco version) was called the Cosmic Staff and the... one that looks like a sex toy that his father used was the Gravity Rod.

Just so people aren't confused - Stargirl isn't set on the merged Arrowverse Earth with Flash and Supergirl. It's very similar to the classic Earth 2 from the comic books.

I enjoyed this more with its lack of Arrowverse baggage. Tons of fun seeing the classic JSA in action, and Stargirl and Stripesy seem very well cast so far.

I just went back to look at Crisis to answer my own question. Stargirl takes place on Earth-2.

That was Pre-Crisis. Post-Crisis, they are on their own Earths now. Also, it can be said that the Doom

Doom Patrol. Cliff’s original human body is a different actor and so is Dr. Niles Caulder.

Similar to how Routh is Superman/Clark Kent on Earth-96 but is The Atom/Ray Palmer on Earth Prime.
