None have ever been considered a lead actor. I think Sean Bean was eligible in Season 1 but didn't get a nomination.

Because it isn't on anymore. It last aired in 2016 and was nominated then.

Harrington and Clarke actually submitted as leads for the last season. They just didn't get nominated.

Really? Interesting. They were both nominated in the Supporting category for the previous season. There really is no rhyme or reason to the categories any more. As one of the very last fans of Westworld I am at a loss at how it got so many nominations, but I’m equally baffled that they consider Rachel Even Wood, Jeffery Wright and Ed Harris lead performers and Thandie Newton a Supporting performer when she must have had as big a pert as they did and a more interesting and satisfying one to boot.

I think it has more to do with how they are submitted than the academy. As far as I know, the academy doesn't decide whether to put actors in lead or supporting categories.

I don't know if this is still the case, but back in the day the actor and /or the show chose the category they wanted to try for, then you chose a particular episode to represent them and then submitted two scenes from that episode. If the award is for a series you submit two episodes.

Interesting to see how genre series have dominated the drama categories: Game of Thrones, Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, Westworld, Black Mirror, American Horror Story, and Orphan Black.

Over half of the nominations in top drama categories (series, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress) are from science fiction and fantasy series.

Nothing for Atypical? This seems like it would catch some attention since it it's a Netflix comedy.

Noah Emmerich should have gotten a nomination.

Yeah. That garage scene was pretty powerful. I've been saying for years that he's criminally neglected by Emmy voters. I really enjoyed Stan Beaman over these six seasons and will really miss him.

I had missed that. One Emmy completes three EGOTs at once! I have to note that the cheapest way ever to get an EGOT has to be the composer of a musical who gets a Grammy for the soundtrack, writes an additional song for the movie adaptation that wins an Oscar and then win an Emmy as one of the producers of the live TV presentation of your musical. To be fair though, at least Tim Rice did win an Oscar for The Lion King before the one he won for Evita.

I went to my cable box to record the Emmys tonight only to find that it’s been moved to Monday, undoubtedly because NBC has Sunday Night Football. Guess I won’t be watching it live this year.

Geez... if the rest of the show is as bad as that opening number... yikes.

Spoke too soon... the opening comedy routine was terrible. Stale jokes and these guys barely have a pulse.

I think Glover showed up as Teddy Perkins and the camera guys had no idea what to do

Now he showed up without Teddy Perkins makeup. Maybe somebody else was in the get up?

They need to just mute the mic during the memorium portion.

Wow, didn’t expect American Crime Story to win again, since season two wasn’t all that great compared to season one. The acting was superb, but I didn’t care for the pacing.

I had missed that Bill Daily died earlier this month.

I was really surprised that Matthew Rhys beat out Sterling Brown. Not that it wasn’t earned. Just seemed like Brown was a lock.

Reparation Emmy's were pretty funny... and yeah, was that Glover as Teddy Perkins, or someone else? I wonder how long it would take to get out of that makeup, because Glover was looking pretty dapper later in the show.
