Can't wait to watch tonight. Re-watched the season finale last night to refresh things.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

The first two episodes of Season 2 contained way too much filler. I am watching this show for the action and there was very little so far.

Also if you have a 4K Firestick, you may have to turn the resolution of your firestick to 1080 at 60hz to watch Halo. Paramount+ was giving me an error message until I changed the resolution.

Same on my ATV4K.

Enjoyed the first two episodes. Based on the trailer there will be plenty of action coming up.

Action? I assumed you watched the first season which also contained very little action.

I am skipping Season 2 as I was bored to tears with the first season. The guy playing Master Chief as the personality of a rock and the charisma to match. If you are going to have long spans with zero action and him pining away on various issues, it is kinda important to have an actor who can carry that. Too much backstory, time with characters I cared little about and near zero action for me to continue.

It sounds like Season 2 is more of the same which means I will pass on it.

It is a shame because the show looks fantastic. The CG, sets, costumes, sound design, etc. are all great.

Pablo has been in a lot of good movies.

I never had the connection to some people do with Halo. I'm guessing if I did, I'd be more into this show. I like watching it, because it has some scattered good moments. But overall, I haven't been feeling it. I'm very indifferent to it.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

Watched the first 2 episodes and I thought they were fine. The Chief vs. Elites fight in the first ep was fun.

Looks like they’re sticking closer to the game lore since it appears they’re setting up
Spoiler:
the fall of Reach

Not a fan of the guy playing the Spatan’s new boss. Didn’t like him on Titans, and so far he’s no better on this.

Can they just get to a Halo? That cuts out all the parts that drag the show.

I was surprised by the ending, I figured they'd wait until the end of the season for the attack on Reach.

Probably a stupid question but do you need to know anything about the game to watch this?

Never played don't know a thing about it other than watching my son play a long time ago.

I like Pablo Schreiber and I am curious.

No. The producers have said it's a standalone series separate from the game.

What become of Miranda? Is the actress playing her not coming back?

The Hardcore Halo Fanboys would say NOT being familiar with the Halos games, books, lore, etc is, "the only reason why one would enjoy this series ". I've played most of the games over the years and I love the series. Go Figure...

Also, it seems the show is being "course corrected" in this current season 2 with new show runners. So if you start s1 and "hate it". Give season 2 a chance anyway.

Yes, it's the "Silver Timeline " or an alternative Halo universe separate from the games etc. It's much like the "Kelvin Timeline" in Star Trek which is separate from the original series Timeline.

The "Miranda Keyes" actress is listed on imdb as 2022-2024 so it seems like she will show up at some point.

My friend's wife played Halo a lot when it came out and she loves the series.
