Shooter (USA) -- S: Ryan Phillippe -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 6/21/18

Picking up from Season 2's cliffhanger, Bob Lee Swagger is taken hostage by Solotov, the world's greatest assassin. Julie and Isaac team up to help bring him home safely. Nadine confronts Senator Hayes about his connection to Atlas. A surprising piece of information about Bob Lee's own father sets off a whole new mission, while back in D.C., a mysterious operative begins plotting an attack.

13 episode 3rd season

Remember, season 2 got cut short (8 episodes) because Phillippe suffered a major leg injury during filming and the season was wrapped after 8 filmed episodes.

Ryan Phillipe was a good looking boy don't know what just happened to him, few people look good with aging and few don't he is one of them who don't by the way still watching this season because of him.

I enjoyed season 1 but missed season 2. Was it decent despite the short run, worth watching?

I remember not enjoying s2 very much. It has no ending due to Ryan's injury. I honestly don't even remember how it left off.

Bob Lee was squaring off with the Russian assassin who killed his team IIRC.

Yeah, as this is continuing the story, I would definitely recommend watching S2.

I certainly enjoyed it.

Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger unlike season 1 which was a self contained story. So yeah you'll have to catch season 2. It's on Netflix and again it's only 8 episodes.

I'm glad they wrapped up the Solotov angle quickly. I'll stick around for now, depending on how off the rails the story goes.

Just finished season 2 on Netflix. I didn't know when I started that the season was cut short due to Phillippe's injury. Now I'll have to wait until S3 hits Netflix.

Only ep1 has aired so far so it'll probably be a while. I don't know if it will continue but s3e1 is available to stream on USA's website.

He dropped cable, so he’s out of luck until it hits Netflix. And USA site and app requires a login. Only way to watch Shooter without cable is buying eps a la carte.

Oh, does their website require subscriber login like some others?

Yeah, I might buy the first episode of this season just to see how the Solotov stuff wraps up. Or I may just wait--I've got tons of other stuff to catch up on anyway.

Re: Shooter (USA) -- S: Ryan Phillippe -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 6/21/18

I just saw the 1st episode of season 3 last night. Decent wrap up to the Solotov storyline.

I also liked the idea of Memphis going freelance and working as a rogue operative with Johnson. Even though Johnson is still a piece of shit. Poor Harry Hamlin.

Glad this show is back, but for episode 2:

Spoiler:
Bob Lee knows weapons and ballistics extremely well (they've made that clear in the books and the show). It was (or should have been) obvious that Earl was killed by a sniper to anyone that heard the recording, Bob Lee especially. To have him slowly come to that realization was very out of character.

Here is where I stand on Shooter since I just binged all of season 2 and this season's episodes in the past week. I thought season one was fantastic with a lot of compelling characters and tight plotting. Probably one of the best short seasons in recent cable memory.

After the binge, I dropped Shooter from my DVR's recording list. Season two was alright, but bringing Isaac back into Bob Lee's life and family is a plot development I couldn't stomach. Season three's focus on Bob Lee's father's history wasn't doing much for me.

I agree. Isaac and that whole side of the story needs to go; although I'll give them credit for incorporating his father with Atlas to bring it all together.

I had to force myself to watch S2, even with the low episode count. I'm enjoying S3 quite a bit more so far.

Only watched the first episode so far, but like how they are using the 24 formula of giving the viewers the payoff of killing the immediate bad guys (in this case Solotov and the Senator) and then introducing bigger bads

I much prefer this than having a multi season dance where the baddie always escapes and lives to fight another day (the Strain and the Following come to mind)

I assumed that was due to the cut short season 2. I'd imagine the plan was to have Solotov wrapped up before S3 started.

Cancelled by USA. Will be shopped: https://deadline.com/2018/08/shooter...rk-1202445976/

Sounds like they're going to shop it to the Paramount Network since Paramount produces it.

How long after the season ends does it show up on Netflix. Started watching after S3 started. Was hoping soon after last episode like how CW does.
