So super duper genius DeVoe has planned for every possible scenario imaginable, but then his wife switches sides and he loses in one episode. Not a great year for Flash....

Feels like too much padding and build up for one villain. Season one really didn't feel that way.

Once they introduced that DaVoe was mind-controlling his wife, Today's "story-telling" concerns pretty much insisted that she be the one to stand up and be the key to defeating him.

I'm sure at least 80% of us were expecting Ralph to come back. I am wondering if we're done with this iteration of Harry and we'll be served up new version next season.

Flashpoint Pt 2 all next season.

Yeah, after all that a bit of a let-down. How could they let Marlaise just walk away like that? She's an accomplice to a sociopath responsible for killing dozens of people.

I'd be fine if Harry only made cameo appearances and wasn't replaced with another version of Harry.

Also would rather see Irish go back to having her own career and life outside of Team Flash...

And for Barry to actually do something on his own for a change.

DCEU Barry and Arrowverse Barry are so drastically different....

Hi Nora... (why aren't we talking about her... and why aren't we talking about the 2-month-old-new-born-baby?!)

Eh, the two month old "newborn" is just the reality of a television series. Sorta like how all aliens always speak English. It's just something you put aside and move on.

Besides, if you've seen one babby, you've seen them all.

I thought they were having twins. Did I totally imagine that? Every other show always has twins, so I'm probably thinking of all of them.

I thought about that, but there was just enough of a gap that they would have had time to clean her up.

This. She was a sociopath too. Yes, she was being controlled at some point, but Marlaise should have gone to prison for being an accomplice and framing Barry Allen as a murderer.

By the way, how many people know now that Barry is Flash and Cisco is Vibe? It's not like the costume for Cisco hides his face at all but Barry had his face in plain sight after the satellite explosion in front of all the survivors, which included the police captain.

I liked parts of it, and enjoyed the finale. Ralph's return makes perfect comic-book sense. I just feel it went on too long. And at the end of the day the Thinker just wasn't that interesting.

They should consider half-season arcs, or even a season or so of rogue-of-the-week type stories. At the very least, they should make a season long villain a slow burn, like Thawne in season 1.

Re: The Flash (S4E23) -- Season Finale -- "We are The Flash" -- 5/22/18

The season would have fared better if it was a about half as many episodes and Thinker obtained his powers much earlier on. As it was, they wasted a lot of time then when he finally was something of a threat, it was over too quickly.

The whole thing with Barry and Irish's daughter wasn't a surprise as that's something I expected her reveal to be from the moment she appeared in the coffee shop. Then when I saw the jacket appear when "another speedster" helped save the day, it kind of sealed it. Wasn't much of a fan of the actress on Black Sails with her fake accent, but maybe she'll do better here without it.

I was stunned the writers quickly whitewashed the wife's crimes. I have a sickening feeling they want to bring the actress back for a recurring guest role of some sort, so they wrote a "happy" exit for her character. She should be locked up for decades.

I was positive on this season until the final endgame became apparent and the plotting devolved as everything wrapped. Dibny brought more to the show than every other supporting character combined in it. The Thinker's master strategy was so generic and dumb.

When they first introduced Nora way back when, I was excited to hear her backstory. Now after several minor appearances and randomly saving the world with Barry out of nowhere, she's a less interesting character. I don't think they managed her reveal particularly well and drew it out too much.

That's what I was thinking when Nora said she'd made a mistake. When she'd helped Barry destroy that satellite my first reaction was "Did she create her own Flashpoint (saving a parent that should have otherwise died)?" Of course if she hadn't, she wouldn't exist. Time travel shenanigans incoming.
