No Zamfir, no sale.

But seriously, there's a 0% chance this is as good as the movie.

You know Zamfir once took a crap onstage? May or may not be true.

Will check out for Dormer and the source material, but more gripping than Weir's film? Doubtful. I'll be gripping something

It's been quite a while since I've seen the movie. I was a teen and came across it on TV having no clue what it was about, and it definitely left an impression on me. Later, Weir became one of my favorite directors.

I'll check this series out, and then at some point I need to revisit the movie.

I'm a huge fan of the orginal Australian PAHR film, directed by Peter Weir. This movie was haunting, ambiguous, and understated - i.e., a true masterpiece.

The true fate of the 2-3?! girls who went missing in the rocks/cliffs was never revealed in the film, and was intentionally left a mystery. I.e., did they fall into a crevice & mysteriously disappear without a trace?! Was there some kind of supernatural force that took them?! Was there some time displacement going on here?!

It sounds like the show will actually be a sequel to the film - though I wonder if the series will recap the movie's events at all?! We'll see.

I'm on episode 5 and they seem to have expanded on character arcs. The Headmistress is a

, etc. This is not a sequel. In fact, there are many flashbacks focusing on individual characters. It's definitely a slow burn, so some may not get into it. I'm only 1-2 episodes away from finishing and I still can't tell if I like it or not. I did enjoy the film, though.

Samara Weaving and Natalie Dormer= I'm in!

Haven't seen the film, yet, so I'll do that first.

Wrapped it up. It was ok. It was nice that they expanded on some characters but still left way more questions than it answered.

You may want to actually watch the series first, then the movie. IMO, the movie is still more memorable than this new series.

Yep, I was a bit lukewarm on all of this. Great visuals and I love Natalie Dormer in everything, but this series didn't quite fully gel the way I was hoping.
