This episode felt kind of like a one-off . I admired the hell out of all the production design and nods to old school Kurosaua in Shogun World, and that they decided to have almost all of the dialogue in Japanese. The stuff with Delores was the weakest, as always. I am guessing they are building to an eventual conflict and showdown between her and Maeve, who seems to be growing with her abilities (almost to a point where one wonders if the writers are just making this up as they go, seems random for her to get telepathic mind control with no set up).

I absolutely loved it. Cowboys vs Samuri was everything I hoped it would be. That was a such a violent and awesome final scene. And I loved how they cribbed so many of the story and characters from Westworld.

Dolores is still boring so far.
Shogun World was fun, I also thought it was cool to see the stories and characters mirror Westworld. I don't know how I feel about Maeve's increasing powers, it'll be interesting to see how they make her vulnerable given that she can play God with every host now with just her thoughts.

Looks like Teddy is going to turn mean.

I loved the first ten minutes of Shougun world and then for me it really petered out. This was my least favorite episode of the series thus far and for the first time I found myself looking at my phone instead of the screen.
Also Delores went from my favorite character last year to my least favorite. I'm sure the next episode will be better but this one for me was a swing and a miss.

Best episode of the season so far. I hope we see a little more of Shogun World, although I have a feeling this may be it for a while.
I'm firmly in the Delores (and Teddy) is boring camp.

She realized he didn't have what it takes when he couldn't execute that guy. She cares for him so is having his programming modified to be more mean and aggressive so he can survive.
She may be thinking of changing him back to her old Teddy when the fight is over.

I think she's trying to save him. She's mentioned that only the strong will survive what's coming and the weak won't make it. By Westworld standards he's a wimp. It's the way he's programmed. That's why he always got killed over and over again.

Somehow he may remember that and maybe turn on her in the end?

At this point who isn't hoping he cuts her head off? Her character is the ultimate bore.

I think it's the character. She was fine last year, but we're half way through the season and it feels like she hasn't done anything of interest.
