Epix is a $5 add on with Sling. So maybe a trailer will wow me.

OK, so I'm the only person in this thread genuinely interested in this.

I'd also watch a Gotham City PD series.

It's been on the air for the last 4 years.

To be fair, the Gotham version of Alfred is pretty badass.

British actor Jack Bannon cast as young Alfred.

https://deadline.com/2018/10/pennywo...ix-1202482014/

British actor Ben Aldridge cast as young Thomas Wayne

Production on the show to begin next week in London.

Makes sense now why Gotham was pushed back to 2019 and has a shorter episode order. Bruno Heller is now moving on to oversee this show.

Oh I got pennyworth mixed up with pennywise. Now I'm disappointed.

Before she was Gotham City's most notorious beard, she was Aunt Harriet: Dinosaur Hunter.

Rather see Alfred in MI5 than being a young butler.

re: Pennyworth (Moving to HBO Max in 2022)

Alfred Pennyworth started his day like any other off-the-books MI-5 operative: in hot pursuit of a rogue agent throughout the unforgiving streets of New York. But after smashing his vehicle into that of a local comedian, and with British intelligence disavowing all knowledge of Pennyworth and his mission, he is forced by a zany judge to serve as the crash victim's butler...

That’s what I always expected this to be considering the character’s background in the comics. It’s still weird to do a series centered on him in my opinion. Like I said earlier if anything this would have made more sense as a flashback episode or episodes of Gotham if anything.

I honestly don't have much interest in seeing a younger Alfred being Thomas Wayne's butler. Essentially the show will be about the Wayne family secrets. I'd rather see him as an MI5 operative- just make it a spy show set during the Cold War.

In the same vein I'd rather have had them do a Superman show based on the Kents graphic novel rather than Krypton. But then westerns are dead so what do I know?

I don't know if this applies to Spectrum customers everywhere, but I get access to the EPIX streaming service for free with my Spectrum internet subscription. I don't have cable television with Spectrum (or anyone), just internet, but that gives me EPIX access so I can stream their movies and tv series.

How many people are going to watch this? The show already has two strikes against it- It's about a topic nobody wanted and it's on EPIX.

Can't agree there. Alfred's character in Gotham is the highlight of the show. An origin for that portrayal of his character is compelling. The EPIX part, I agree with.

But it's not the origin. It's about Wayne/Batman secrets. The origin would be learning about Alfred's days in MI5.

re: Pennyworth (Moving to HBO Max in 2022)

Are we going to see Alfred fight a young Penguin? Who gives a shit.

Seriously. What can they do with this that hasn't been done with Gotham? If it has a serious tone they might as well have taken my idea and have it be about Alfred's days in MI5, but no, we had to do another Batman sans Batman show.

re: Pennyworth (Moving to HBO Max in 2022)

I actually have EPIX right now because it's now a standalone service. Using it to catch up on a few of their shows and see their movies. So we'll see if I keep it long enough to see Pennyworth's premiere. Hopefully summer?

This is a prequel to Gotham and takes place in London, no? So we shouldn't expect to see anybody from Batman's rogues gallery in this.

Yes it's filmed in London and is a period drama. We aren't going to see any Batman lore characters.
