It's the 2nd year of it's 2-year renewal and the show is getting super expensive now. I hope it's the final season, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

I bailed on watching it week to week. I'll catch up on Hulu this summer. For a comedy, it's gotten tedious to watch.

So far, the only new show on ABC that I'm interested in is The Rookie because of Fillion and it has a good supporting cast. Since it's a procedural like Castle, it has a good chance to stick around unlike all these serialized shows that have failed.

"THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT"

Set in the 1970s, this ensemble comedy follows a traditional Irish-Catholic family, the Clearys, as they navigate big and small changes during one of America's most turbulent decades. In a working-class neighborhood outside Los Angeles, Mike and Peggy raise eight boisterous boys who live out their days with little supervision. The household is turned upside down when oldest son Lawrence returns home and announces he's quitting the seminary to go off and "save the world." Times are changing and this family will never be the same. There are 10 people, three bedrooms, one bathroom and everyone in it for themselves.

Sounds about right.

They could be entertaining. I have enough shows as it is and something needs a hook which tends to be, science fiction, fantasy, comics (powers) magic etc... based.

Well the "main" networks seem to rely on crime shows (csi, ncis, law & order, etc) or sitcoms. I've gotten tired of the first one after so many years of spin-offs etc and they're all pretty much the same thing with different characters. While I don't find most sitcoms funny since Hollywood's main idea of "humour" is to have people put in dumb situations act dumb as dirt. That was one reason I enjoyed The Big Bang Theory in it's early years, because it tried something different by having characters who were smart, but didn't know how to interact with other humans. Unfortunately it's ran it's course and hasn't been funny in years either... So I don't even bother with new sitcoms.

It's true that my main genre's I like are fantasy and sci-fi though. But I also enjoy psychological "mindf**k" shows too (maybe why I enjoy Legion so much).

The superhero genre is getting overplayed and they're down to b & cdef characters I either haven't heard about before they made the show or I just don't care to invest in another. So unless something really good pops up, I don't feel the desire to pick up anymore until some of the ones I'm watching either end or get cancelled.

Unfortunately the "main" networks seem unwilling to change formulas or shake things up by trying new genres.

Fortunately, Japanese anime usually fills the voids for me and with FUNimation doing Simuldubs and HIDIVE doing Dubcasts, English Dubs of most shows come out within a few weeks of the Japanese airing which means I don't have to watch as many in Japanese with English subtitles and that my daughter is more able to and willing to watch them with me since she's still learning how to read.

I'll give A Million Little Pieces a shot because of James Roday. Otherwise, I'll be watching roughly the same amount of ABC as always.

Saturday Night College Football (depends on the matchup) - Battle Of The Network Stars (if it comes back which I doubt).

Here’s the trailer for Whiskey Cavalier - looks like it could be fun. Either they have great green screens, or it’s filmed in Europe with international rights in mind ala Covert Affairs.

and go figure it's not airing until midseason.

Probably due to Cohan still working on Walking Dead, so she won't have time to film in the summer.

Usually, a network (esp. ABC) will lead off the hour with a popular well established sitcom. Then the the new shows get scheduled on the half hour so that there's an existing popular show as a lead in. If you had Roseanne and Black-ish in a single hour, less people are likely to sick around for the new shows in the second hour.

ABC did try that last season and many of these types of shows failed
e.g. The Crossing, Kevin Probably Saves the World, Marvel's Inhumans, 10 days in the valley, etc. All the networks do try other types of shows but most of the time, the general audience reject them. So it's more Shonndaland shows about doctors, cops and lawyers.

Either the shows were not so good or the general audience just wants the same thing over and over again. How many shows can one watch about Doctors.
